  • great archive! why don't you upgrade the sound with a new MP3 or something? It would be better with cleaner sound.

  • Awesome 80's New Wave! Brings back good memories!

  • I think I actually submerged these memories of teh early 80's. Funny thing is, now when I hear them I have a certain iroic thrill out of the whole experience. Not all of the 80's was greed and beemers. Thanks for posting this, jsbx5 I needed that :)

  • Hey, just got your comment. You're totally welcome. I put these up for people like you. Except for one person on here whos made a complete ass out of themselves with their smug comments and who obviously has nothing better to do then to make highly unclever negative comments on the internet to make themselves feel superior...I've had nothing but love come from fans of this band and era. Thanks for droppin 'me a line my friend.

  • This is one of my all-time favourite songs: Dale Martindale, cevin cey, et al.

  • Great tune. Love the 80s an miss em too. +1K

  • Anyone notice that the drummer of this band went on to form Skinny Puppy and pioneer the beginnings of industrial music? That's quite a leap from this poppy syrup.

  • Dale Martindale is my cousin. :)

  • mathboy:it hits hard.... no more bets...heathers lust for my cock is spider good..... yessenia and denisse: were washing mattys cock now the table will be closed for maintenance now.... cleaning lady ..... ill vaccuum daves jizz ... .... alejandra: cotorra mistook my lust for pizza didnt he nnnnnnnn how could he ..... zuniga:when mathboys shit lies there like that ..... i never lied or ate it all....my nephew: hi ingrid my cock will be in ur mouth soon i have to feed toffee a cookie

  • So much nostalgia I can't stand it! The 80's were the BEST period! My brother in law is in this video (jury - courtroom scene) haha! I love IIV - so proud they're from Vancouver too. Thanks for posting :)

  • I loved seeing them at the Ontario Place Forum with that crazy revolving stage... thanks for posting

  • It's funny, being a kid in the middle of nowhere (suburbs of Chicago), had my parents not gotten a "GINORMOUS" satelite dish, I'd had no idea Canada even had an awesome music scene (MuchMusic and MusicPlus) ... Even comparable to the great music coming from britain.. Shame, so many ppl from the states even remotely heard this... Sad...

  • Always loves the song, but one question remains...HOMOCIDE? Is this a typo?

  • This is the type of song that run in one's head over-an-over. Its such a great song! Love everything about this band! They were and still are one of my favorurite Canadian groups of all time. Like the 2010 Winter Olympics, it makes me proud to call myself Canadian. Awesome melody, lyrics & video. Images in Vogue - (such a cool name for a band) they rock!

  • The Memories ..One of the awaited songs.. New Westminister.. "Bumpers" under age dance club.. hair piled high.. lost in a trance..

  • @vintagefarms I remember going to a dance club on Columbia Street (it's now a lapdance emporium)in the late 80's/early 90's called the Paramount. Same place? Used to go on 'alternative night' or some such. Cure, Cult, Front 242, Love and Rockets, Siouxie, etc...

  • Very comparable to the cure i think

  • There are so many great songs like this from the 80's! Brings back some amazing memories! I was so lucky to be a teen in the 80's. Best decade period.

The music these days in my opinion, lack any originality, emotion or soul.

  • I feel ya on that one...there has been a retro comeback though to a certain degree..which has been pretty cool..but it's nothing like it was..that's for damn sure.

  • I totally agree with you lordofsage

These days music is not created, it is electronically engineered in a music studio with it's many components assembled together like a electronic device would be built in a factory. That is why indie pop is great. It's CREATED NOT PRODUCED which are two very different things.

  • one of the synth players, Joe vizvary, is my fine arts teacher. I find it pretty epic. 0_0

  • Man, I love IIV. I saw them back in the '80's when they came to my city. I always liked the singer Dale. He's hot! He kind of reminds me of the singer from The Cure and Edward Scissor Hands. They are so hot too. I love that look. ...And Dales voice is fantastic and unique.

...And I do remember Good Rockin' Tonight first with Terry and then with Stu. Great show!

  • Lead singer sounds like a mix between Peter Murphy and David Bowie. This is Rad!!!

  • man i had this on a cassette for years and thought it was a peter murphy solo thing I could never find....but now I have a new old band to collect tunes from...BTW new SKinny Puppy tour (kevin crompton = cevin key!)

  • I'm sittin here, watching this video, drunk as a skunk...and remember when I was 18 back in 1984. Loved Images in Vogue, Duran Duran, Spandau, ABC, Men without Hats....the list goes on......God, let me go back to 1984 for a week...with my burgundy hair, frilly shirts, baggy suit pants, eyeliner........Sorry...I'm really shit faced now!!

  • hah! No worries...I'd love to go back to that time too..bein a kid in the 80's was hella good times my friend. I miss those days big time. If I could somehow hop onto a parallel universe, that's the time frame I'd go back to for damn sure.

  • @jsbx5 Hook me up when you find a way there!

  • Your profile says your age is 29. If you were 18 in 84, you'd be 43.

  • yes i', 43 i guess profile is screwed up sorry and back then i was a DJ in Vancouver and goth.

  • Man, that's one of the coolest Youtube comments I've ever seen.

  • The first time I ever heard them was when they opened for Duran Duran in 83 or 84. Nobody knew who they were and everyone was just sitting on the floor waiting for DuranDuran. Then Dale Martindale (singer) came out and was dancing his ass off and the music was so great that everyone jumped to their feet and rushed to the stage. It was great. I went to Victoria BC immediately after and bought every IIV record I could find. GREAT live act: a real shame they weren't able to break in the US.

  • Those were really good days. Makes you want to drink up just thinking about it.

  • I think Ricky Gervais (during his Seona Dancing days) could have fit right in with these guys. Love it!

  • I love the bangs on the chick in 1:05

  • joe vizvari (keyboard dude) is my musics teacher

  • Anyone else remember when he and Howard Busgang co-hosted SwitchBack on CBC Sunday mornings?

*I am SO dating myself with that*

  • Humble Howard! LOL

  • Humble Howard was also the original host of Ed's Night Party.

He also played a bit role on CBC's Liberty Street, which was a sort of Canadian take on Melrose Place or the movie Reality Bites.

  • Busgang is not Humble Howard. They are two different people. But, yes, Humble Howard was on of the original hosts of Ed's Night Party.

  • No. Humble Howard and Howard Busgang are two different people.

  • Yes, I do remember that, but I also remember when this video was first premiered on "Good Rockin' Tonight" with Terry David Mulligan. Now, I'm dating myself.

  • I remember that show, but T.D. was never a host. Good Rockin' Tonight was either CBC, Global or YTV. T.D. always worked for Much/City.

  • I'm afraid you are mistaken. Have a look here on YouTube or other places. Good Rockin' Tonite was on CBC and was originally hosted by Terry David Mulligan and, later, by Stu Jeffries. It started about 1982 or '83.

  • I stand corrected. :) I only remember Stu.

  • DAD!!!!

  • I almost died when he walked in to our photography class to visit our teacher back in 1985. Pretty cool when your only 17..... Ah the memories.

  • shut up!!! i envy you.. i would have shit myself too, especially at 17... thats so cool.. was that in Toronto??

  • British Columbia

  • nice i live in Vancouver too

  • WoW!!...do I sense a "Love Connection"...oh well, try a listen to Strange Advance...memories of yesteryear.

  • This was used in this week's episode of "Being Erica"., It was the song playing about half way through when she was in the bar with that guy from "The Border".

  • I know....couldn't believe it. Loved it!

  • I heard it in the show and immediately loved it.

  • One of my top favourite songs of the early 80's! 80's were the best!

  • This is a great song, and the music video's awesome as well. It's quite beautiful, actually, but the quality is crap. I'm 14 and I love this sound... 80s music rocks =D

  • 0:40 the stamp reads "Homocide"

  • lol... i looked it up on urbandictionary !

  • I love this song.........Awesome!!!!! Thanks jsbx5 I agree a really great Canadian band!

  • carobrets..with all do respect bro...take your head out of your ass!

I was 18 in 1984...Lived in Toronto and was totally into the New Wave/ New Romantic scene!

Images in Vogue were one of the best bands that came out of Canada. Sure, they were no Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet, but they have their place in history as a classic Canadian New Wave band along with the Spoons, Blue Peter, Men without Hats etc.....

Cut them some slack will ya!!

  • makes no sense to argue about music, it's all subjective. You like them, I don't... let's put this baby to bed.

  • LOL -- cEvin Key @ 2:42 on the left. Nice hair budday!!!

  • nobody agrees and nobody cares so do us all a favour and shut up k.. and don't comment again cuz im not gonna read it

  • cool voice

  • Great band! At the end the 2 ghosts kiss, I hope she isn't mistaking that lust for love all over again. The dead just don't learn.

  • Underestimated and much better live. Best Canadian band without a doubt.

  • Screw this song, Nothing Stays is a better song of theirs. Only the drummer is Cevin Key from Skinny Puppy. See? He was committing homocide even when this outfit was rolliing. Rock on!

  • ~hey boys~

  • Don't get me wrong I love this song and video, but a tarantula bite is not going to kill a grown man lol

  • That's true. Most people don't know the difference though, and tarantulas look scary to them.

  • Actually...its a Hollywood Spider.....very very very deadly.....kind of like the Hollywood Hand Grenade that John Wayne used to use in war movies.....one Hollywood Grenade would level half a country.......Yikes!!!!

  • When he's dancing at the end, he reminds me of Bruce McCulloch. I don't know why.

Anyway, this is another example of how much better videos were in the '80s.

  • cabbagehead!

  • Indeed.

  • Haha he totally reminds me of Bruce McCulloch too! Good call! LOVE this song. His voice totally reminds me of Peter Murphy.

  • Don't you mean Ian McCulloh?

  • Nope.

  • an old friend of mine from high school JUST married the lead singer! one of my fave bands in the 80's

  • CFTR

  • Yes, i too remember how good CFNY was. was it on 102.1 fm radio? my sister works at 99.9.--she converted me from am 640[back when they played music]to CFNY. i also remember being at the cottage 20 yrs ago and hearing JACK for the first time, forget witch station it took over-the name is on the tip of my toungue.

  • This reminds me of the late great CFNY The Spirit of Radio....when it was a fantastic radio station! Brings back wonderful fuzzy memories!

  • CFNY was a great great radio station, and there is alot of history to be found on it if you look. I may be bias but there will never be music like that again. The closest I have heard as of late that's not bad, is Fred on XM

  • Comment removed

  • one of my favorite songs from the 80's era. released greatest hits on cd only included "save it" and "careful"

  • does anyone have strangers in love from these guys? love that song

  • I always thought his voice was like Pete Murphy's from Bauhaus.I can just picture him going straight into "telegram sam"

  • Small budget amazing video/song.Doesn't say much for musicians nowadays does it.

  • no kidding! i hear ya!

  • I hear ya..there's just an all around lack of variety of music nowadays..

  • I think of Degrassi when I hear these guys!

  • Loved that show! They played that on PBS here in the states back in the day...Good Times!!

  • Cool song and a brilliant video

  • So basically, that woman mistook the lead singer's lust for love, killed him as revenge for his dismissal of her advances, and now she's in court while his ghost takes her to task from beyond the grave?

Why can't we have videos like this nowadays??

  • Hah! I agree!

  • Back then it was art, now its nothing but self-serving attitude. Awesome vid by the way.. been looking for this one for years.

  • Glad you found it!

  • the keyboardist... joe vizvary is my teacher :D

  • this band was so cool back in the day, remind me of The Killers.
