Hey, just got your comment. You're totally welcome. I put these up for people like you. Except for one person on here whos made a complete ass out of themselves with their smug comments and who obviously has nothing better to do then to make highly unclever negative comments on the internet to make themselves feel superior...I've had nothing but love come from fans of this band and era. Thanks for droppin 'me a line my friend.
Anyone notice that the drummer of this band went on to form Skinny Puppy and pioneer the beginnings of industrial music? That's quite a leap from this poppy syrup.

So much nostalgia I can't stand it! The 80's were the BEST period! My brother in law is in this video (jury - courtroom scene) haha! I love IIV - so proud they're from Vancouver too. Thanks for posting :)
It's funny, being a kid in the middle of nowhere (suburbs of Chicago), had my parents not gotten a "GINORMOUS" satelite dish, I'd had no idea Canada even had an awesome music scene (MuchMusic and MusicPlus) ... Even comparable to the great music coming from britain.. Shame, so many ppl from the states even remotely heard this... Sad...
This is the type of song that run in one's head over-an-over. Its such a great song! Love everything about this band! They were and still are one of my favorurite Canadian groups of all time. Like the 2010 Winter Olympics, it makes me proud to call myself Canadian. Awesome melody, lyrics & video. Images in Vogue - (such a cool name for a band) they rock!
@vintagefarms I remember going to a dance club on Columbia Street (it's now a lapdance emporium)in the late 80's/early 90's called the Paramount. Same place? Used to go on 'alternative night' or some such. Cure, Cult, Front 242, Love and Rockets, Siouxie, etc...

I feel ya on that one...there has been a retro comeback though to a certain degree..which has been pretty cool..but it's nothing like it was..that's for damn sure.
These days music is not created, it is electronically engineered in a music studio with it's many components assembled together like a electronic device would be built in a factory. That is why indie pop is great. It's CREATED NOT PRODUCED which are two very different things.
Man, I love IIV. I saw them back in the '80's when they came to my city. I always liked the singer Dale. He's hot! He kind of reminds me of the singer from The Cure and Edward Scissor Hands. They are so hot too. I love that look. ...And Dales voice is fantastic and unique.
...And I do remember Good Rockin' Tonight first with Terry and then with Stu. Great show!
man i had this on a cassette for years and thought it was a peter murphy solo thing I could never find....but now I have a new old band to collect tunes from...BTW new SKinny Puppy tour (kevin crompton = cevin key!)
I'm sittin here, watching this video, drunk as a skunk...and remember when I was 18 back in 1984. Loved Images in Vogue, Duran Duran, Spandau, ABC, Men without Hats....the list goes on......God, let me go back to 1984 for a week...with my burgundy hair, frilly shirts, baggy suit pants, eyeliner........Sorry...I'm really shit faced now!!
hah! No worries...I'd love to go back to that time too..bein a kid in the 80's was hella good times my friend. I miss those days big time. If I could somehow hop onto a parallel universe, that's the time frame I'd go back to for damn sure.
The first time I ever heard them was when they opened for Duran Duran in 83 or 84. Nobody knew who they were and everyone was just sitting on the floor waiting for DuranDuran. Then Dale Martindale (singer) came out and was dancing his ass off and the music was so great that everyone jumped to their feet and rushed to the stage. It was great. I went to Victoria BC immediately after and bought every IIV record I could find. GREAT live act: a real shame they weren't able to break in the US.
Yes, I do remember that, but I also remember when this video was first premiered on "Good Rockin' Tonight" with Terry David Mulligan. Now, I'm dating myself.
I'm afraid you are mistaken. Have a look here on YouTube or other places. Good Rockin' Tonite was on CBC and was originally hosted by Terry David Mulligan and, later, by Stu Jeffries. It started about 1982 or '83.
This was used in this week's episode of "Being Erica"., It was the song playing about half way through when she was in the bar with that guy from "The Border".
This is a great song, and the music video's awesome as well. It's quite beautiful, actually, but the quality is crap. I'm 14 and I love this sound... 80s music rocks =D
carobrets..with all do respect bro...take your head out of your ass!
I was 18 in 1984...Lived in Toronto and was totally into the New Wave/ New Romantic scene!
Images in Vogue were one of the best bands that came out of Canada. Sure, they were no Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet, but they have their place in history as a classic Canadian New Wave band along with the Spoons, Blue Peter, Men without Hats etc.....
Screw this song, Nothing Stays is a better song of theirs. Only the drummer is Cevin Key from Skinny Puppy. See? He was committing homocide even when this outfit was rolliing. Rock on!
Actually...its a Hollywood Spider.....very very very deadly.....kind of like the Hollywood Hand Grenade that John Wayne used to use in war movies.....one Hollywood Grenade would level half a country.......Yikes!!!!
Yes, i too remember how good CFNY was. was it on 102.1 fm radio? my sister works at 99.9.--she converted me from am 640[back when they played music]to CFNY. i also remember being at the cottage 20 yrs ago and hearing JACK for the first time, forget witch station it took over-the name is on the tip of my toungue.
CFNY was a great great radio station, and there is alot of history to be found on it if you look. I may be bias but there will never be music like that again. The closest I have heard as of late that's not bad, is Fred on XM
So basically, that woman mistook the lead singer's lust for love, killed him as revenge for his dismissal of her advances, and now she's in court while his ghost takes her to task from beyond the grave?
great archive! why don't you upgrade the sound with a new MP3 or something? It would be better with cleaner sound.
