excellent job, i have beeb a big steely dan fan all my life and its great to see the riff being played...note for note, better than being in a concert 8) keep up the great work
VERY cool man. I remember that tune as one of my favs from that time. You nailed that one perfectly. I've been playing for around 36 yrs & I'm gonna be looking at your vid as I learn this one. I've always been self-taught - no internet when I started - G Bebop Dominant, eh? I always wondered about this solo - I'd love to pick your brain (no pun intended) on this. Sincere Thanks from an "old" timer.
Hey Andy, It's Matt. What a bitchin' guitar. I've just recently delved into the world of Steely Dan. So I've been inspired to start learning a bunch of jazz licks and scales.
Steel round wounds- rock and roll baby! The Johnny A model is a solid top - like an L5. That's the tone you're hearing. I aquired it almost a year ago and I can still smell that freshly milled maple top! I save the flat wounds for my ES-175 - laminated top.
I also have a Johnny A. model. Serial number 80. Love the tone, but I'm having a hard time getting used to the swith position. Still using my repro 59 Les Paul. Thinking about putting flats on the Johnny A. to experiment a little.
excellant!!! screw the dislikes- they are jealous, stoned or both & a dash of envy as well..
