Dan, is it normal for my face to still feel tingly when I put this on? I've been following the regimen for a week now with the proper dosage but my skin still feels tingly. I changed my routine so that I only put this once a day but my face still stings a little ):

I find that Dan's benzoyl peroxide is far too irritating. I use neutrogena on the spot 2.5% instead.

i have clean an clear exfoliates cleaner an it says benzoyl peroxide but it tells me t owash it off, can i clean my face wit the neutrogena wash, then put on the peroxide a nwash it off then add moisturizer

I use Jan Marinies 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. It works a treat and doesn't dry my skin out although I do use Cetaphil moisturizer and jojoba oil. After six months I haven't had a break out.

@oysterinbread Total and utter rubbish, you have no scientific data to support you ludicrous claims and that's because there is none. Benzoyl Peroxide is perfectly safe, it oxygenates the skin which means bacteria cannot exist. Free radicals my hairy arse!!!

i acknowledge your expressed experience and if this works for you then i wish you all the best. I consider this to be a drug. I eat locally cultivated food and all raw including meat. Acne never goes away quickly, you should expect to spend as much time cleansing as you did combating with drugs. I feel that all these products only give near instant gratification and bury the problem deeper.

Acne is just what it looks like.

Benzoly peroxide only works for some people.benzoly peroxide is good but the problem with it is that its really strong. people with dry skin should avoid it because it will make your skin peal off.

Yes, you can after the moisturize step, wait until it is COMPLETELY dry then apply makeup GENTLY it will work great. After I moisturize, (I've always had problems with dry skin) I move my face around and some times it shows the dryness so I will apply more moisturizer there and let it dry and then apply makeup....I've had a lot of practice with this but it works.

i have started the regimen once again. i just want to maintain my clear skin. i have very good skin. no scars or enlarged pores or discolorations. i was nervous to use bp because i had heard it caused premature aging so i decided to go on the obagi nuderm but now that i know bp doesnt cause premature aging im back on and use it with clinical skincare solutions 10 percent glycolic and at night i use pca vitamin c with 20% ascorbic acid to stimulate collagen. im very happy!

when I use BP I smear it on my face but there are also some white spots of BP that won't smear in and just sticks on my face

A few questions... Is the BP completely absorbed by the skin then, and you just apply your moisturizer once it's dry? Is it okay to wash your face in between BP and moisturizer? Because I like the Diadermine one I'm using now, but am a bit afraid of putting it over the BP, in case it reacts badly or something.

@AnaFelixPires it won't react badly. it's fine, let the bp fully absorb into your skin, where yes, it feels like it's completely dried. then it's fine to put moisturizer on after that.

I'm using jimmy rigged products in place of Dan's for my "regimen." Murad's Clarifying Cleanser (from their acne complex), Epiduo (2.5% bp + 0.1% adapalene) along with a Murad moisturizer. Have to see how it works.

You can use 5%, but you may experience more dryness than you would with a 2.5% bp. But do not use anything stronger than that for the Regimen.

hey! thx for everything but i have a doubt...i use an aquose based benzoyl peroxide gel, and after i apply it after some time i see that instead of being colorless it goes white, is it because im not spreading it enough? and also, my derm told me to use the benzoil once a day.if i use it twice, will it affect me? and when is it better, night or day to apply it? one last thing hehe, does washing with non-grease soap work??thx a whooole lot :)

We've observed that using generous amounts of bp twice daily usually gives people the best results. You can certainly ask your derm about it if you are unsure. Cream based bp's do sometimes leave a residue. If your moisturizer and massaging it in well doesn't take care of it, you may want to try Dan's gel. It dries clear. As for your cleanser, Dan likes to use a gentle unmedicated cleanser.

This happens sometimes in the beginning of the Regimen. If it continues past a few weeks, you may want to try a different moisturizer.
