mochi is an absolutely DELICIOUS rice-cake thingy. "mochitsuki" is the name of the "party" (i guess you could call it a party/gathering/ceremony) where you MAKE mochi.
@YukiXia55 : I am not Japanese. This is Japanese rice cake I guess. They make this in new year. I never eat it before but I think the rice cakes are delicious.
