  • Willi Cicci is trying to learn the note lmao!

  • this tune epitomizes the brilliance of the first Godfather

  • If there was some stupid kid who walked up to my store, wearing a doo rag, pants down to his knees, a grill, and stupid glasses with a loose shirt asking ME for protection money I would laugh my ass off and tell him to f*** off.....the mafia on the is a different story

  • also great that's it's Francis Coppola's father playing the piano..

  • @bigpurplenug... Grandfather of movie star Nicolas Cage !!

  • Are those black and white pictures of the dead guys real pictures?

  • @bigpurplenug Yes. At 0:56 Willie Moretti shot in Joe's Restaurant in Cliffside Park, NJ.

Coppola referred to him in movie as Luca Brasi who got Johnny Fontane (Frank Sinatra) out of his contract)

  • Greatest gangster movie ever made, hands down.

  • The Godfather = Cinema's greatest achievment!!!

  • Love it. What's so great about the scene is it is both macho and civlized at the same time. Yes, all those gangland murders. But 10 guys sitting down for dinner, no women, most of them wearing ties, one of them (note the gun holster) playing the upright piano for fun. Come on. Don't you want to join them for that big Italian dinner-?

  • @bubba362 wHOA. Watch what you say. It's 2012. The word 'macho' is not considered homophobic! lol

  • @tropicalpimp *now considered.

  • every man had his price.... even Tessio

  • Anyone else find this scene serene?

  • @danielhiryu I think everyone finds this scene serene.

  • What really makes this montage great is that rather than just call them selves family like an organization, the gangsters actually treat one and other like family even during mob wars.

  • @Struckworld lol. I was trolling. This is one of my favorite movies, and this one of my favorite songs. I was making fun of trolls, but I accidentally became one. Don't take it personally :)

  • @lpc315 you bothered wasting your time writing a rude comment to one of the greatest films of all time, now the teacher is calling and recess is over you better go inside

  • I want to download this song onto my Ipod. does anyone know how i can get ahold of the MP3? even if its a pay site.

  • @Commyeskimo

I could not find it on iTunes. Convert this clip into a MP3 file. Just type in the sentence: Convert Youtube to Mp3 files.

  • @TejMulen Read my comment again. Did I ever say you swore? No, I didn't. I merely said you were being extremely rude. And btw, your immaturity is pointless, so give up now before you lose whatever brain cells you have left, okay?

  • @TejMulen I find it amusing how almost every comment you have ends in LOL, as if you expect someone to find your insulting behavior funny. I pity you if you're so desperate to get a laugh. You obviously can't grasp the importance of this scene, even though someone was kind enough to take time out of their day to attempt to explain it through your thick skull, so take your trolling somewhere else. Opinions matter, but if you're going to be that cold about it, then no one will want to hear it.

  • @TejMulen You're ignorant, I have no tolerance for that.

  • @TejMulen Don't watch it cunt. You don't deserve it's excellence. Have fun with your soon to be King. That family is a bunch of theives and criminals that now sit on their ass all day eating bon-bons and drink tea, while they enjoy the splendors of other countrys' wealth.

  • @TejMulen It is the best gangster film ever made and possibely the best movie period ever made. The movie is 3 hours long, you can't base it off 1:30min of it. This is a very integral and important scene. Prior to this an extremely important plot point had occured. This scene is used specifically to release tension. It shows a break in events and a change in the character Michael is taking place. I also beleive Coppola uses this scene to allow the audience to recount what has happened. Watch it!

  • @TejMulen I hope you are joking

  • Nice.

  • coppolas dad wrote this

  • best piano tune ever

    period

  • This song is very emotional. Its beautiful! theres no other way to put it really.

  • This song is so beautiful, brilliant, and epic

  • Most beautiful song

  • Wish I could come up with an arrangement for guitar for this piece (not a piano player)...I don't know what is, but every time I hear it, it just sounds so sweet on that slightly out of tune upright, I gotta replay it again. Remember the outro theme to "All in the Family?" This number's not as upbeat and flashy, but jazz honky tonk at its finest. If I ever heard someone play it live, I just might have to cry on that note.

  • @JCarabillo. You might like to check out my YouTube version (on piano). The music, with chord symbols is available. Maybe you can use them for a guitar arrangement.

  • From 1.16 are these supposed to be police sirens in the background or some sort of stringed instrument (cello) - or even a violin out of its case! Anyone know?

  • @rdr555 I always thought it was police sirens,

  • 1:15 to 1:18 is so great

  • @TranceLuvr69 He kind of remind me of Snoopy sleeping ontop of his doghouse like that for some reason.

  • @drcoxcentral lmfao

  • Never tire of listening to this.Transcription of sheet music now available on eBay - Search "This Loneliness Godfather"

  • i love this scene in the movie!! :D

  • Hey is there violins playing in the background? it sounds like it.

  • @drcoxcentral . Police car sirens at 1.16 Yes. Violins No ! This is solo piano played live in the scene shown. Love the pianist's gun holster !

  • @rdr555 I thought I heard some strings in the background that's why I asked.

  • @rdr555 I love that part about the scene too, I find it unique to have a pianist gangster like that and the fun part about is the fact its Coopola's dad!

  • This little Tune is the Soundtrack of my Life.

  • @Badguy10472 mine too...

  • George Lucas edited this scene together. He asked not to be credited.

  • Clamenza was my favorite goon in the Godfather..."Leave the gun. Get the connoli's." chlls baby,...chills.

  • sounds very close to the song "stardust"

  • somewhat close to the django reinhardt version of stardust

  • @itsaguinness. Listen to "this loneliness ronnyweasle". There's a connection there somewhere !

  • @rdr555 the ronnyweasle version was very good. I still hear:

Stardust by Django Reinhardt when I hear this

  • The Greatest Scene Ever...

I've watched it about a thousand times and I still get goosebumps.

  • Where can we get the sheet for piano of this song ? plesase help "!!!

  • @emilatla i just got the godfather trilogy book today 4 piano sadly no trace the sheet music seems to not exist you cant even buy it = (

  • @emilatla

I don't think any sheet music was ever transcribed for it. I looked all over a few months ago, none to be found. It's really beautiful though.

  • I hope someone finds that soundtrack that has "This Loneliness". I heard it is hard to find.

  • To watch this and then hear some kid with his pants on his ass wearing a doo rag call himself a 'gangster' really does make me laugh my New Yawk ass off!

  • @tropicalpimp you're right. At least gangster's had a bit of style and class about them in those days- you wouldn't see al capone wearing a string vest and jeans 10 times too big for him.

  • @tropicalpimp I come back to this 2 years later to see 44 likes...nice! Thanks people!

  • the man playing piano next to willi cicci is francis ford coppola's father

  • I have been looking for this for so long! It is such a beautiful piece.. Thank you

  • Years of searching finally at an end. Now i can sleep with the fishes :)

  • This is what you hear when the times are changing for your life......it's going straight to my Ipod

  • great comment man...

  • Thanks man, to be honest, whenever I watch this movie, I repeat this scene maybe 2-3 times =D

  • thanks for this song. i'va been trying to get it long time ago.

  • I have searched for this piece for years. If any one knows how to get it on CD, pls. advise.
