Aww, I am so sorry to hear that Peanut passed away :( You are in my thoughts and prayers. I too have a yorkie, his name is Boopa and when the time comes for him I'm sure that I will be devistated. ((((( Hugs )))))
Hi everyone. I'm very sad to say that yesterday morning, November 30, 2011, Peanut passed away at the age of 15. He was a spunky and energetic friend and we will miss him greatly. We really loved him.
@jrkagan So sorry to hear about your loss. I have enjoyed watching, and commenting on, this video many times because our Yorkies are so much alike in their possessiveness of what is theirs. Also, you and I probably have the most criticized Yorkie videos on YouTube, because there are so many know-it-alls out there. I am glad that you had the 15 years with Peanut, and I am sure he was happy and loved. Again, so sorry for your loss.
@jrkagan i was really enjoying watching him, my yorkie (ozzie) came running and watched too, my goodness they were soooo alike, looks and temperment and mad about balls! Im so sorry for your loss, a yorkie may be tiny, but the loss of one is enormous!
I would LOVE to go up to Peanut as he's sitting down and just spreading my butt cheeks around his nose as I let out a nice long airy fart directly into his nostrils.
i have a yorkie now whos 17 and this video reminds me so much of how he used to be. this yorkie and mine look axactly the same. i wish he was still this playful. its so sad seeing him so old =[
Several years ago, my mother fell and could no longer take care of her yorkie. She had a very sweet disposition and was never aggressive. I am happy to report that under my tutelage, she now bites everyone. She is overindulged and has the run of the house. I have turned a loving, adoring pet into a piranha with fur.
OMG!!! This is so cute!!! I have a yorkie named Gobbles and he acts just like that!He growls and does that sneezing thing when he gets mad too! Hilarious!!! ;)
aha my dog is half shih tzu have yorkie and it def has the personality of a yorkie! it does the exact same thing! it also growls than sneezes too lol! xD
I am VERY interested in buying a yorkie and i need some information. I am 10 yrs old and r yorkies good for my age? If u have a yorkie or know a lot about them then please tell me all that u know. Also if u have a yorkie please tell me how much u bought it for. Thanks!
@superswifty21 I got my Yorkie for 1800 and unless you are REALLY good at handling small animals gently and are committed to having a dog for 12 -15 years, dont go for it. Yorkies dont do very well with children.
stop fucking intaganizing him and perhaps he would behave in a good way it's obviouse you shouldn't be a dog own being that you allow him to react in this manner, why even have a fucking dog if you can't train him with his aggression.

your dog is being bad........because you let it. this is not cute. Your dog is a yourkie, therefore goes to a groomer. I know 100% that your dog behaves like this, and worse at the groomers. Owners like you are despised because you let your dog think this is ok behavior. ASK your groomer if your dog has ever bitten them in the face. I bet they'll say yes. @JustSiouxMe Do you know how annoying you are? there is advice, which is welcome, then there's being a cunt criticizing everybody else's lives over the internet. seriously, you don't know me, my family, or either of my dogs, so stop trying to tell me what living with them is like ok? I don't get what crawled into your head and gave you the thought that you are in any position to criticize my life, over the internet as well. wow.
@JustSiouxMe Wasn't going to write again, but, MV, you need a longer fuse. SueMe, Why have you got such extreme reactions? You need to read your own rants to answer that. What worries me is that you are going to meet people like MV and yall in real life. With an attitude like yours it's asking for trouble. They sound like people who will just break your jaw if you're lucky! Maybe you're not as "brave" in the real world? Advice. Lose the self righteous attitude and look in the mirror. Be safe.
@tykiedog I merely pointed out that this behaviour isnt bred into yorkies, like all these people seem to think, and that ANY dog with the proper training is obedient and is not aggressive towards humans without very good reason I.E the dog feels as if it or its pack are threatened.
You lot are the ones calling me a plethora of names, and trying to sound all badass. Im sorry if I tried to point out some facts that could help people build a better relationship with thier dogs.
my yorkie was like that when he was little, until he took my other dog's bone. He learned not to snap at things that mouth's were bigger then his head XD (didn't get hurt of coarse. just learned.) anyway, peanut is so cute :) i like to bother my dog's too haha
I have two of them and if ione has a toy she will prade it back and forth in frt of the other untill that one wants it..then they get at it , when mossey gets tried of the game she walks away . then little sisiter BeBe picks up the same trip .prades the toy in frt of the other.Like two little kids thay always want what the other one has, scrap like Hell then curl up on me in a ball and sleep together thenext minute
Cute video! When she's feeling annoyed our Yorkie snarls, snaps and charges after the big Labrador, but the Lab seems to think it's all good fun. As I write this, the Yorkie is sleeping next to me -- right next to the Lab -- on the couch.

Let's just hope this dog doesn't get around anyone, especially children, and have a situation come up that causes him to bite. He could injure a child or an old person if behavior like this is allowed. My Yorkie was taught at an early age not to bite down on skin and has never bitten even during rough play. Granted dogs have different personalities just like humans and my dog is very easy going but they can be made to see that some behaviors are not acceptable.
I know it's a "cute little doggie" but Yorkies are a TERRIER! They were bred to be like this! They are little killers (Bred to slaughter vermin in cotton mills). My Yorkie will fight ANYTHING to the death. Don't suppress this!
@MVDog57 spreading such a rediculous, unfounded lie about the nature of dog breeds, is the reason why little dogs are seen as snappy. And the same reason some states banned pitbulls on the grounds they are inherrantly a dangerous breed. Its idiotic drivel, spouted by morons who have no idea what they are talking about. ANY dog will be aggressive if it isnt trained properly.
There is no such thing as an inherantly violent or aggresive dog. Just stupid owners.
@JustSiouxMe You are one of those people who have an opinion about everything but have no knowledge or intelligence to back this up. I"m a 3rd generation vet, animal behavior is my speciality. Every dog breed has character traits. Look up the history of the Yorkshire Terrier and why they were bred, they had to be, and I quote, " ... to have the heart and instincts of a Lion and have to fit into a pocket", My Yorkie shook and "killed" a tissue when he was 6 weeks old. Look up DNA you fool.
@tykiedog If you were an expert on animal behaviour, you would know just how bad it is for ANY dog to be behaving in an aggressive dominant manner towards its owners, like this one is. Yes yorkies are bred to be fearless, but they are also supposed to be very loyal and protective of thier owners. They are certainly not supposed to act like the owners are their property.
This behaviour would make the dog completely unnusable as a ratter, because you cannot have a working dog that is disobedient.
@tykiedog I mean, seriously, I have a hard time believing you are an "animal behaviour specialist."
Should that not mean that you should know, better than anyone, that NO dog should be allowed to display aggression unless there is a damn good reason for it. i.e. someone breaking into your house, etc.
@tykiedog You should also know that puppies play by picking stuff up in thier mouths and shaking it. They are practising killing prey. Same thing with cats. when a kitten pounces on everything in sight, its practising killing prey.
Your yorkie shaking a tissue is just normal puppy playing. Its just how younger animals practise using the skills they need to catch and kill food when they are older. In dogs, its just something left over from wolves.
@JustSiouxMe A good friend of mine has a saying, " Trying to educate a moron is like trying to teach a pig to sing, it's a waste of your time and it just pisses off the pig!" QED (If you know what that means?). By the way, the correct spelling is "their". God help us all.
@tykiedog well it sounds like maybe you were the inspiration for that saying. And yes I do know what QED means.
And nice, well done for changing the subject to focus on a silly little spelling mistake I made, yes you really distracted me from the fact that you dont even know basic shit about dog behaviour.
Youd also know that behaviour like that towards humans, for no good reason, is bred out of dogs. not into them.
@JustSiouxMe You are arrogant, ignorant, opinionated and WRONG. Trying to convince a clown like you is impossible. Not going to waste any more time on a cretinous maggot. As for "my fucking arse"?, well, at least you can spell it! For all our sakes, let's hope you don't breed. Have a good life Porky.
@JustSiouxMe Cretinous maggot? To good for you. More like shitforbrains retarded wanker! Never read such CRAP! This is what happens when you give arsewipes computers. You are so far up your own arse you can see the back of your fucking teeth. How fucking wrong can you be?! Makes my blood boil cos you are so disillusioned thinking you are right! Best thing for you to do is shut the fuck up! Every sentence you write makes you look even more fucking "special needs".
@yallnome06 Ha ha! Love you too. I'm sort of sorry for my outburst but I just can't stand ignorant know all pricks. Makes it worse when they are WRONG. Glad to know at least there's someone out there who agrees. Both my Yorkies are on my knee helping (?) me to type, poor mistreated mites. Good luck to you my friend.
@JustSiouxMe I own a farm. I have 4 sheepdogs and two Yorkies (brothers). The Yorkies rule the farm, the sheepdogs are scared of them. They herd cows for christ sake! I dont have cats, the Yorkies are the best ratters ever. They are fearless. They are also my buddies and are very loving. I choose Yorkies BECAUSE they have that attitude! They are born like that you fucking dickhead!! Couldn't have a Lab or a fucking Pomeranian, they don't have the balls! DO YOU GET IT NOW YOU WANKSTAIN? Good God!
@stingraybch Well said. My Yorkie wouldn't get away with that. I'd dump his backside on the floor and take the ball away. My toys, not his. He just borrows them.
@stingraybch its sad that people let little dogs get away with dominant behaviour like this, even worse when people outright encourage it. All it ends up doing is making the dog stressed out and miserable. People need to realize that there is no such thing as "little dog syndrome" and to dogs, size means nothing.
I think that most Yorkies get like this. Mine has a serious problem with this and it can get very difficult to get her out of it. It's not really a matter of training the dog because it's in their breed.
@Bella112770 no, you its completely a matter of training it properly. You are now in a position where you dog thinks it is higher up the social ladder than you. How does it feel, being dominated by 7 pound animal with the mental capacity of a 5 year old child.
Anyone who believes the "its just in thier breed" line, especially regarding behaviour like this, simply should not own a dog.
you seriously need to train your dog, it's not funny. go get a dog trainer if you dont know how to deal with his aggression. the puppy is cute now, wait till it grows older.
@louisezy87 I honestly think those of you who are criticizing must be blind. The dog is ONLY acting that way because his toy is being threatened. If you just watch the video, it is obvious this is not an unhappy or mistreated dog. You see his facial expression change to playfullness many times in the video....it is only when he thinks his ball is being threatened. Some of you probably "snap" at your husbands for a lot less than that.
@DerrickH1969 yeah, its a dangerous thing to try to and humanize the behaviour of any animal. Everyone parroting this drivel, and telling everyone this is just in a Yorkies "temperament" display nothing but a complete lack of knowlage on the subject of dogs.
He reminds me of my dad's Yorkie Minnie. She used to do little sneezes like that whenever she got excited, before jumping up and giving us dog kisses. She never bit anyone (though sometimes she might have chewed a finger or two, LOL).
hey i will tell u something: if your dog shows is teeth go away cuz then he will bit u and that aint good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hit him if he shows his teeth with a news paper
@shlomo5757 I'm sorry to tell you this but, I don't believe in beating animals especially dogs such as what we saw in this video with a news paper or anything else! If a dog shows his/her teeth then just firmly and lovingly tell him/her "No bite!" I mean at least show a little humor for this video! And I'm sure the owners never did any harm to this dog!
@califgirl101 well aside from making it think its dominant, which mentally stresses a dog out and can make them very prone to anxiety. And you dont hit them, you nip them on the back of the neck. thats how dogs teach other dogs to behave.
He is a wonderful dog.I am very sorry he passed away.Mine also passed away this summer.

@yallnome06 Do you even know what behaviour canines exhibite when they are being dominant.
And big words man, seriously, wow, you must be such a badass. I mean giving me threats on youtube an all that..........
JustSiouxMe 5 months ago
@JustSiouxMe Do you know how annoying you are? there is advice, which is welcome, then there's being a cunt criticizing everybody else's lives over the internet. seriously, you don't know me, my family, or either of my dogs, so stop trying to tell me what living with them is like ok? I don't get what crawled into your head and gave you the thought that you are in any position to criticize my life, over the internet as well. wow.
yallnome06 5 months ago
@JustSiouxMe Wasn't going to write again, but, MV, you need a longer fuse. SueMe, Why have you got such extreme reactions? You need to read your own rants to answer that. What worries me is that you are going to meet people like MV and yall in real life. With an attitude like yours it's asking for trouble. They sound like people who will just break your jaw if you're lucky! Maybe you're not as "brave" in the real world? Advice. Lose the self righteous attitude and look in the mirror. Be safe.
tykiedog 5 months ago
@tykiedog I merely pointed out that this behaviour isnt bred into yorkies, like all these people seem to think, and that ANY dog with the proper training is obedient and is not aggressive towards humans without very good reason I.E the dog feels as if it or its pack are threatened.
You lot are the ones calling me a plethora of names, and trying to sound all badass. Im sorry if I tried to point out some facts that could help people build a better relationship with thier dogs.

Granted dogs have different personalities just like humans and my dog is very easy going but they can be made to see that some behaviors are not acceptable.
maggiefox2000 10 months ago
I know it's a "cute little doggie" but Yorkies are a TERRIER! They were bred to be like this! They are little killers (Bred to slaughter vermin in cotton mills). My Yorkie will fight ANYTHING to the death. Don't suppress this!
MVDog57 10 months ago
@MVDog57 spreading such a rediculous, unfounded lie about the nature of dog breeds, is the reason why little dogs are seen as snappy. And the same reason some states banned pitbulls on the grounds they are inherrantly a dangerous breed. Its idiotic drivel, spouted by morons who have no idea what they are talking about. ANY dog will be aggressive if it isnt trained properly.
There is no such thing as an inherantly violent or aggresive dog. Just stupid owners.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@JustSiouxMe You are one of those people who have an opinion about everything but have no knowledge or intelligence to back this up. I"m a 3rd generation vet, animal behavior is my speciality. Every dog breed has character traits. Look up the history of the Yorkshire Terrier and why they were bred, they had to be, and I quote, " ... to have the heart and instincts of a Lion and have to fit into a pocket", My Yorkie shook and "killed" a tissue when he was 6 weeks old. Look up DNA you fool.
tykiedog 6 months ago
@tykiedog If you were an expert on animal behaviour, you would know just how bad it is for ANY dog to be behaving in an aggressive dominant manner towards its owners, like this one is. Yes yorkies are bred to be fearless, but they are also supposed to be very loyal and protective of thier owners. They are certainly not supposed to act like the owners are their property.
This behaviour would make the dog completely unnusable as a ratter, because you cannot have a working dog that is disobedient.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@tykiedog I mean, seriously, I have a hard time believing you are an "animal behaviour specialist."
Should that not mean that you should know, better than anyone, that NO dog should be allowed to display aggression unless there is a damn good reason for it. i.e. someone breaking into your house, etc.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@tykiedog You should also know that puppies play by picking stuff up in thier mouths and shaking it. They are practising killing prey. Same thing with cats. when a kitten pounces on everything in sight, its practising killing prey.
Your yorkie shaking a tissue is just normal puppy playing. Its just how younger animals practise using the skills they need to catch and kill food when they are older. In dogs, its just something left over from wolves.
This is the same reason dogs love to chase.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@JustSiouxMe A good friend of mine has a saying, " Trying to educate a moron is like trying to teach a pig to sing, it's a waste of your time and it just pisses off the pig!" QED (If you know what that means?). By the way, the correct spelling is "their". God help us all.
tykiedog 6 months ago
@tykiedog well it sounds like maybe you were the inspiration for that saying. And yes I do know what QED means.
And nice, well done for changing the subject to focus on a silly little spelling mistake I made, yes you really distracted me from the fact that you dont even know basic shit about dog behaviour.
Youd also know that behaviour like that towards humans, for no good reason, is bred out of dogs. not into them.
"animal behaviour specialist" my fucking arse.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@tykiedog Lol, I bet you think that when a dog is excited it means its happy.
And when it puts its head down and ears back, it means its sad.
I bet you thnk that when a little dog sits on its owner and barks and growls at everyone who gets near, it means its protecting its owner.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
@JustSiouxMe You are arrogant, ignorant, opinionated and WRONG. Trying to convince a clown like you is impossible. Not going to waste any more time on a cretinous maggot. As for "my fucking arse"?, well, at least you can spell it! For all our sakes, let's hope you don't breed. Have a good life Porky.

You are so far up your own arse you can see the back of your fucking teeth. How fucking wrong can you be?! Makes my blood boil cos you are so disillusioned thinking you are right! Best thing for you to do is shut the fuck up! Every sentence you write makes you look even more fucking "special needs".

Good God!

wiimania9 10 months ago
If a German Shep behaved like that, it would be in trouble, but it's really no different. All dogs need behavior training. Small and large.
stingraybch 10 months ago 25
@stingraybch Well said. My Yorkie wouldn't get away with that. I'd dump his backside on the floor and take the ball away. My toys, not his. He just borrows them.
kooki85 7 months ago
@stingraybch its sad that people let little dogs get away with dominant behaviour like this, even worse when people outright encourage it. All it ends up doing is making the dog stressed out and miserable. People need to realize that there is no such thing as "little dog syndrome" and to dogs, size means nothing.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago
little ankle biting bastards the lot of em
rabbitsniper22 10 months ago
I think that most Yorkies get like this. Mine has a serious problem with this and it can get very difficult to get her out of it. It's not really a matter of training the dog because it's in their breed.
Bella112770 10 months ago
@Bella112770 no, you its completely a matter of training it properly. You are now in a position where you dog thinks it is higher up the social ladder than you. How does it feel, being dominated by 7 pound animal with the mental capacity of a 5 year old child.
Anyone who believes the "its just in thier breed" line, especially regarding behaviour like this, simply should not own a dog.
JustSiouxMe 6 months ago

anonwillprevail247 11 months ago
you seriously need to train your dog, it's not funny. go get a dog trainer if you dont know how to deal with his aggression. the puppy is cute now, wait till it grows older.
louisezy87 11 months ago
@louisezy87 I honestly think those of you who are criticizing must be blind. The dog is ONLY acting that way because his toy is being threatened. If you just watch the video, it is obvious this is not an unhappy or mistreated dog. You see his facial expression change to playfullness many times in the video....it is only when he thinks his ball is being threatened. Some of you probably "snap" at your husbands for a lot less than that.
DerrickH1969 11 months ago
@DerrickH1969 yeah, its a dangerous thing to try to and humanize the behaviour of any animal. Everyone parroting this drivel, and telling everyone this is just in a Yorkies "temperament" display nothing but a complete lack of knowlage on the subject of dogs.

hey i will tell u something: if your dog shows is teeth go away cuz then he will bit u and that aint good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and hit him if he shows his teeth with a news paper
shlomo5757 11 months ago
@shlomo5757 I'm sorry to tell you this but, I don't believe in beating animals especially dogs such as what we saw in this video with a news paper or anything else! If a dog shows his/her teeth then just firmly and lovingly tell him/her "No bite!" I mean at least show a little humor for this video! And I'm sure the owners never did any harm to this dog!
califgirl101 11 months ago
@califgirl101 well aside from making it think its dominant, which mentally stresses a dog out and can make them very prone to anxiety. And you dont hit them, you nip them on the back of the neck. thats how dogs teach other dogs to behave.
