People who say coheed is like rush, are uneducated. Just because two people sing in upper registers does not mean they sound alike. They are completely different styles. John mayer and dave matthews sing in the same register, but do they sound alike? No. Its just more easily discerned due to the commonality of the range.

@FinalApollo Well it's mainly due to the progressive nature of each band, both are progressive rock bands, which leads to a tendency to compare Coheed to Rush. On top of that, Geddy and Claudio do sound a lot alike if you were to compare two vocal tracks next to each other. The connection may be more vague than others, but there nonetheless.
