I give most of my music away for free under a creative commons license for non commercial use. I am happy that people want to download my music and share it. But if you can afford to pay and would like to help me and other struggling artists like me to make a living, then why not consider some of the alternatives, for example…. See post below, and thankyou, we need your help and support.
If you are looking for quality, original, hassle free, inexpensive, legal soundtrack music for your next Youtube video or short film....try "Rumblefish Friendly Music" Just follow the link in the "About Me" section on my page. Only $1.99 per track. (Some good songs...not just library music).
What prevents a consumer from moving to a different ISP? Media and information companies are a cartel. They have acting in concert in anti-competitive measure in order to prevent the changes in copyright neccessary to accomadate the new technology and uses of consumers, as happened with sheet music, then the phonograph, and then radio, and the the betamax.
all that money lost.. poor them. they always forget, most people wouldn't be buying those items anyway. it's not a loss, it's just nulled. I pretty much only buy indie anymore, where I know the money IS going to the artist, and not to the pockets of the middle people. stop being greedy.
16 billion dollars in monopoly money. everyone knows that this won't happen for the fiftieth time and whoever suggests it ends up being attacked ferociously.
estimated 16 billion account movie and music companies, We all know in the past they have Artificially inflated their loses in the past to make it look like piracy is hurting them more then it really was. I'd like to see a 3rd part company do a review, one that is NOT paid by mpaa/riaa.
@arbiter1 This was already done. Look in "Media piracy in Emerging Economies". Joe Karaganis' staff looks into Competitive Price points as well as the entire enforcement issue in other countries to give an idea of piracy being about underserved customers and this idea of throttling the internet is truly a bad idea from the get-go.

what RIAA/MPAA don't what the general populous to know is that the people who pirate their content weren't going to buy it any way.
