Hey dad has that in his left arm, all I've seen them to him about it is massage it down everyday to get the fluid out but, that compression pump thing sounds like it may be a better idea and I'm going to ask about it. Hope your doing better now sorry took me so long to get to this been busy as hell, Now go knock someone the fuck out! Love ya!
i wanted to say i suffer from Lipo-lymphedema just found out a year ago i had one doctor tell me i am a big girl and big girls are supposed to have big legs i am getting ready to go back to ER in next day my legs have over come me so much i can' t use my pump because they hurt to much but the pump does work i have to use it 3 times a day for an hour at a time but i get cellulitus all the time and have to stop treatment I know how the wraps are for the legs try getting both legs wrapped & walking
Good grief! As if you needed any more surprises...
And yes, I know where you are, D. I'm right handed to the point that if it doesn't work, there are seriously important things my left hand is incapable of doing. I enjoyed such an experience many years ago when my right hand was out of commission for a couple of months. It wasn't pretty...
You are such a beautiful woman! Love the blue eyes and your personality is fantastic!
I love candles also and addicted to them. I think the gift of a candle for each nurse is a great idea. You can not go wrong with that!
I admire your strength, your courage, your spirit and for the positive additive that you as you travel this this time in your life. You are going to get well and feel so much better. God has plans for you to stay around for a long time! God bless!
@msjudyf1 thank you so much for the positive comment. I believe I will beat this cancer too but it is a hard road right now..I am addicted to candles too. Even in summer.. lol
No ideas on the lymphodeoma thing but I'll ask around. Are they sure it's for life or is it maybe? My MIL had curly hair grow back and it was like that for a year but now her own hair has come through as if her body has settled down after the shock. The outfit sounds great and what a big celebration! As for the nurses perhaps you could get them communal gifts to share in the staff room - stuff to fix drinks in the heat? Glad to see you and your bright blue eyes lovely lady. Cheers, Lesley
@flydarling Yes it is for life.. they are sure.. I spoke with Tobie2 today and found out that in time my body will learn to reroute the fluids and the swelling will get better.. Not sure how long it will take.I am excited to see what my hair will come back like..
Hey girl always good to see your sweet face. Ahaha... Michelin man..good to see you have not lost you humor. But really that sux... pump for evah! Poo fingers..Knock some one out...Oh my.Ahahaha Hot as hell here too.The turquoise sounds lovely. You will be styling for sure. Well...Your almost to the bell..Woohoo HuGz Sugar
What a great opportunity to learn how to be left handed and finger paint...
Good to see that your mood is up and hear that you're the last chemo is Tuesday. You've come a long way...a Southern Belle is always gracious even under pressure. ;~}
Sure hope that bandage helps the swelling while you wait for the right cuff to be made or till it comes in.. Scented candles sound like a great gift idea, cookies sound great too, OR a huge sheet cake that they all could share..:)) I'm sure they will love whatever you get them.. So glad that your last treatment is next week! Woo Hoo.. Can't wait to see you ring that bell! Yay for shopping.. love turquoise - it's your color! xoxo
@mysteryglo Judy I am so glad that my last one is next week too but how I dread it.. I thought about a sheet cake but it is so hot and I would have to deliver it. I am thinking picture frames from Hobby Lobby..
Hi there:)Your spirits seem well! You are a inspiriation for us all for sure...hope your last one goes well, then you need to recoup to build back up your strength! Hey how about a few packages of seeds wrapped in a pretty ribbon for each of the nurses..that would be nice! and inexpensive..
@Dlorezzz i have been thinking allot about how my father helped train his right hand after his stroke and all of the immobility issues he had that went along with it (massive swelling & what not) he did all of the exercises the o.t. drs said too but he swore by doing crossword puzzles. at first he would get so pissed because it was so difficult, but the concentration on writing in such small spaces he said helped. once he got used to it he could use his left hand quite well (cont)
2- (he lost use of his right side w/ the first stroke) and after a while he could use his right hand some too. he also would do my sons penmanship work with him every day. it was funny as all get out to watch orion and dad gloat over who wrote one of orions spelling words neater LOL as for the toilet time issues i got dad a perennial bottle (not sure if that is what they are called) so he could use water to help clean himself. i would just put warm water in it when he had to 'go' (cont)
3- not sure if any of this helps. i hope you have a great weekend and you have a wonderful dinner wearing your new outfit. btw i think you should get matching sandals... but this comes from the girl with what some people might think is an excessive shoe collection ;)
@edenbainbridge yes Eden all this information does help a lot. Thank you for taking the time to write all this.. I am def going to shop for turquoise sandals !!
YAY for retail therapy! The outfit sounds beautiful. I love turq! Oh, it must be murder with your arm wrapped up in the heat! That is just too hot. So glad the last chemo will be over soon. I would suggest something from Bath and Body, is that the name? Sometimes you can get thing 3/10.00. I guess you would have to know what they like. Your eyes are fabulously blue today! Just gorgeous! Take care my friend. Thinking of you a lot! xo
What a treat! To see ya twice in a week.. LOVE IT! I don't know anything about the edema, I wish I knew something to tell you. I saw that someone else posted about your eyes in this video.. They look almost torquoise (sp?) GORGEOUSNESS! I love me some blue eyes. I am so glad you are almost finished with your treatments. SO GREAT!!! Take care :)
@pinkbuttrfly2004 I know twice in a week I am doing better with my vlogging.. Blue eyes are a family trait on my mother's side of the family and I have been complimented my entire life about the shade of blue my eyes are. As I get older they look gray to me..
Doris so glad that you are having an up day. YAY lat treatment. I want you to ring that bell so loud that I can hear it all the way up here. I
What about those pocket antibacterial gels from bath and body works? I know that nurses are always using them and right now they are on sale 5 for 5.00 & they have the mini lotions in the matching scents on sale 3 for 10.00.
I know when I worked as an aide my hands were always dry and chapped form washing them so much. Just a thought.
*hanging my head in shame* Now I feel like a jerk complaining about no power and internet. I got my first dislike on a video today too. I guess people don't like me complaining!! Girl I hope that new thing for your arm works. OMG I know it must be difficult to do anything with your swollen arm. Is it painful? I'm sorry Dolores! But Tuesday is the end of chemo. Yay!! I think candles sound really nice. Hugs girlie. I hope that arm gets better! Love you and Hugs!
@imperceptibleme Melissa don't let some jerk with a dislike button ruin your day..We all have to complain sometimes..Yes Melissa it hurts when it is really swollen big and it itches a lot. this bandage feels better but is big and bulky..
@Dlorezzz Naw the dislike button didn't ruin my day or my video. LOL I was surprised... and I don't know why. But in the grand scheme of things... I have nothing to complain about really. I'm so proud of you girl. You are doing it and making cancer your dog!!! If you were up to doing it your beautiful homemade cookies would go great but I know you aren't up to it. Love you girl.
@Dlorezzz I know girl. Hopefully one day you will be able to if you want to. Waiting for James to come home... he's working over. He'll be ready to fall over when he comes in. Love you!
I do hope that you video your last chemo trip. I was going to but being the bright stick I am didn't charge my phone the nite before & didn't have the juice for it. I'm wondering now if while using your sleeve/pump there r natural/alternative treatments to do with it too. : )
Yay for retail therapy! I think its must when we r going through this stuff. Make sure you have a celebration dinner for yourself too after #6. As for the gifts I gave 2 gifts that went to all the chemo nurses in one shot. Alot of ppl where I went gave angels or other memetos with poems on it etc that r displayed in the chemo room. Then I gave a gift to my oncology nurse(gift card 2 place I knew she liked). Box of gourmet cookies to reception.
Cant wait to see you ring that bell, my young cousin (aged 22) has ovarion cancer, she is doing chemo at the moment until xmas, her tumour was too big for an op, but she had an mri today and they cant see any tumour, so that is good news, she will have radetation too. your gorgeous blue eyes are sparkling today. i hope the lymphedema swelling does go down and make life easier for you. have a great night at the party, hugs , Caroline,xx
I have to use the compression pump on my legs every single day. I also have to wear compression stockings. I'm prone to swelling in my legs and I was hospitlized for venious ulcers on my leg twice. I can totally identify with your wrappings and the pump.
@Dlorezzz yes the pump does work !!! It makes an incredible difference, and there have been days when my legs have been very swollen, but after I use the compression pump, the swelling is lessened and my legs don't hurt. somedays you may find haveing to sit in one place while you're useing the pump annoying ( I have to use it 2 hours a day) but to me it's all worth it.
It first I didn't like you bald, I mean I still liked you and all, but the bald wasn't working for me. Now, I'm digging it. I am excited to see it grow back, I wonder what it will look like.
