  • How does a grip rip like that? (I am not a gymnast). Does anyone know if she got to go back up and finish? Someone told me she broke her hand here...is that true as well?

  • @Stonymypony When she overshot her hand and it hit the low bar on her transitional skill it twisted the grip and ripped it. It was reported that she broke a couple of fingers which is why she stop in the middle of her routine and did not finish.

  • yeah, this was unfortunate. she was in line to win the AA and a couple of golds in EFs. but after the team competition, seems like flukes and tiny mistakes kept creeping in. kinda like dawes at 1994 worlds.

  • this was not her championships.... so sad.

  • Wow, what composure!

  • In IG they reported she broke a couple of fingers.

  • she definitely broke her hand or fingers

  • Poor poor poor girl!

  • Gosh anyways, I would have given her the win without the fall.

  • she actually broker her hand very badly. No-one should compete on broken bones. I think she took it very well. If it wasme I would be in tears. She is very brave

  • she broke her hand

  • nope they confirmed that she did break a couple fingers

  • How could she grip the bars with a broken hand/fingers?

  • Who is that she talks to when she gets off of the podium? Kalinina?

  • yes

  • When you listen to the video of the 1992 EF on bars, Kathy says she's broking her fingers there! Doesn't look like it! ;)

  • I believe she dis located them.
