The funniest moment was Maine: John Knudsen, 28:58, the poor guy, was trying to find the words to honor his state, and ended up saying: "...the sun comes up in Maine, first in the nation .... and we feel honored to have that as our singular .... whatever, priviledge ...". I've been looking for this since the Dem. Convention!

Theatrics. Roll calls at conventions are planned. Theatrics include having the nominee's home state be the one to push the nominee over the mark; to keep the delegate count under control to foster greater theatrics. Ultimately, they wanted to keep it under control so Hillary in New York can call for unity and for an acclimation. CA and IL have large delegate counts; so for them to pass helps to keep the delegate count from getting too high so to break the theatrical aspect of this event.
