  • This is great way to educate on an important issue whilst making a decent living, keep up the good work!

  • After this I'm still terrified of bees :( but I have more respect for them now ^-^

  • Cool! check out our urban bee project in Limerick, Ireland

    Bee Limerick :)

  • We have so much to learn from nature, all of that knowledge will be lost and will eventually lead to our own self destruction if we don't preserve these wonderful animals and the remainder of nature untouched by industrial hands.

  • I wonder if meditation would encourage bees to come to a garden? If we put out thoughts of love, specifically towards bees, to let them know that we won't hurt them and we'd like their help in creating garden food, then I wonder.... :D

  • CCD is due to chemtrails which are destroying everything in its path.

  • New York City Health Department to end ban on keeping honeybees.

^_^. Woot it is now LEGAL.

  • Scientists have already discovered why CCD is occurring, 60 Minutes broke the news and other news agencies. Immediately after the airing of 60 Minutes, the media started to act as if scientists were still really confused as to why CCD was happening.

The obvious truth is, CCD was caused and still is occurring because of certain pesticides. I believe that its also done purposely because it will only drive the cost of food higher and higher which suits the goals of some evil beings.

  • that guy looks like a twin of the guy from little people big world 0.0

  • @bobtheoblitorator no way its steve martins older brother

  • I hate bees so much.

  • @JJAB91 If bee dies... you might die after couple of years.

  • @orioncheung Simple solution, make robotic bees.

  • you have the best video

  • Oh fer crap's sake. It's the governments making the bees extinct. It's all that shite getting prayed into our air from those chemtrail planes. It's been tested, and barium and arsenic (yes--that stuff that's used to kill pests) is in that mix, whatever it's for. And until the government publicly states what it is, I'm not going to dismiss anyone's claim that they're trying to poison US.

  • Extraordinary Claims require Extraordinary Evidence. Cite your sources.

  • There's no suck thing as underwater bees! We would survive off the ocean. Long live the trawlers!!!

  • you do realize that we would have a tremendous collapse in the numbers of fish in the world, i mean look at newfoundland

  • Long live the trawlers?! Do you have any idea how much damage is being done to the ocean by trawlers every second!? They are increasingly desperate, trying to find fish that isn't there due to the collapsing fish stocks!

  • I just got back from commercial fishing, tons of fish out there.

  • God bless all of you who care enough to practice such a valuable hobby - a hobby that goes beyond selfish amusement to help the world.

  • don't insecticides kill bees? since so much insecticide is used nowadays isn't it kind of obvious that that's what is killing the bees?

  • They think it may have something to do with changes in the Earth's magnetic field/polls disrupting their ability to orient themselves and get home - their GPS might be all jacked up.

  • Einstein said that if Bee's were to disappear from Earth we would be DONE in 4 years! Dead, gone..

So leave those bee's alone and help them when you can.

  • Einstein never said that.

  • machines can polinate flowers if bees become extinct, no worries. haha

  • I hate bees.

Since they stung me so incredibly much when I was a kid, I'm automatically scared of them and try to kill them whenever i can.

It's like nature to me to kill bees.

  • if bees got wiped out could humans pollinate the plants themselves? food prices would go up and alot of people will go hungry but i think not everyone will die? because there will still be some food left?

Also I don't get it. bees make honey but why? and if humans take that honey wouldn't the bees get pissed? maybe that's why the numbers decreased? b/c that dude was stealing the bees honey and selling them?

i don't know much about bees so plz answer my questions, thanks!

  • people & machines could pollinate, maybe.. food prices would go WAY up. The machines would have to exist to make it happen.. Not to mention all the collapse problems that would occur if regular plants didn't get pollinated.

The bees eat the honey, if a beekeeper takes too much, he leaves a sugar water drink for them to feast on.

  • oh I see. sugar water! yah u're right some species of plants might be extinct before we get to it.

If bee started to die, governments would put more funding into the development of manual pollination methods. Engineers would develop something before we would all be extinct ^^. Maybe using human labour or engineering another insect to do the same job as bees.

But its good that this video has bought awareness of bees. If I see people trying to kill bees Ill tell them to f off. ^^

  • If the world food supply was collapsing, food could be laboriously hand-pollinated. In that time though, ecosystems would be seriously hobbled and might collapse - everything from small animals and insects having to eat roots and other things that would ravage the local enviro b/c their usual food sources would be gone. If some ecosystems collapse, or are altered, that means soil erosion, which mean rivers/lakes changed, maybe fish don't spawn.. fish stocks decline and the ocean gets wacky

  • oceans/water are way more temperamental than land, so once water changes its usually a snowball.

This bee business is serious stuff. Birds are demonstrating weird migration patterns too, so they think its a magnetic fields thing.

  • That makes sense. didn't think of it like that...

but what's causing the magnetic fields to change? Human activity?

Can we build a gaint inductor and run current through it so it would correct the magnetic field of the earth to what it is meant to be?

  • No, human influence is highly unlikely. The earth is a massive rock, and the dirt, trees, water, bugs, and people on its surface, are like dust on the surface of your apple. Magnetics is way deeper, and the fossil record indicates that the Earth routinely goes through field shifts. So either something is happening in the core of the planet where the molten iron is, or there is a change in gravitational force outside the planet.

  • So it's natural/normal to be happening, doesn't mean it wont have big implications on the surface of the Earth - seems like it is. Normally it wouldn't be such a big deal, but we have so many people on Earth now, that screwing up the food system can create wars and stuff. Then again, we have more than enough farmable land to feed everyone.. capitalist economists stunts that. In a crisis, we'd likely change the system a bit to keep things safe/sane.

  • Hahaha, RoboBee.

"Flower or not, you're coming with me!"

  • We really DO need bees; good for him!

  • I love bees!

  • i get the talk on allergies, you need the most local honey you can get, or so i've heard. but calling NY rooftop honey "pure"? OK, i don't live in NY but in a so called garden area of a small eastern european capital with nice winds (so the air pollution souldn't be a problem) but i prefer the wild berries near my grandmothers countryside cottage over the cultivated ones of my town garden

  • fantastic

  • mmmhmmm... Bee the change you wish to see in da world...

  • The pollen allergen was a new fact I hadnt heard before. Spoonful a day for me!

  • Never thought that honeybees could be so important to the environmental overall balance.

  • really? thats cool! I love honey too :)

  • What would prompt Einstein to make that comment about bees? lol

  • He cared about a diverse range of issues in his time.

He had a great brain and used it every day.

    GOOD? they'rrrrrrrre GREAT!

  • So many ways mankind can end...

  • 1. Make honey

    2. sell it

    3. ?????

    4. profit!

  • llololololool

  • this

  • instead of encouraging me to save the world, this video makes me discouraged to fcking save the world

  • And how come? I really don't get your logic.

  • why?

  • Reduce, volunteer, educate... Brilliant.

  • Four more years left until 2012.

  • What a coincidence...

    We're all doomed

  • all bees are not dead.

  • Slowly decreasing, the fours have yet to be counted down. 12/21/08 marks the countdown.

  • ^^ .. thats pretty funny man. so what if you, me and everyone else dies. its just a matter of time anyway right.

  • wow..your life must be lame, kfdonny

  • no, im enjoying the reggae festivals and i meet cool people. its a matter of opinon if im lame, really. you have the right to think that i am tho. lol

  • wow after watching all these videos i feel depressed.

  • COOL@

  • Scientists can't figure it out, eh? How novel.

Maybe it's all the pesticides, herbicides, bactericides, fungicides that we've been using for the past four thousand years....? Long-term effects are a bitch!

  • We are our own worst enemy....

  • Ok, this is a novell idea, but doesn't oney collect urban pollution?

  • Any products that are harvested from NYC can't be good quality... Sorry but that's my honest opinion.

  • lmao

  • I say hes terrorist training killer bees, using the honey to fun his activities.

  • u dont take anything serious do u. ur not much of a thinker either.

  • That las comment was a joke, but my first one was serious. I wouldnt eat honey from bees that collect pollen from plants that rely on carbon from cars and all the unnatural sprayed flowers throughout the city.

Not a free thinker? So just obey whatever is on the tube? Can you say brainwashed sheep?

Oh and props to this guy selling the honey, great way to alternative chaotic city life/job. Fuck Corporate business. :)

  • My grandfather is a beekeeper :)

  • i'm so glad i found this ch!!!!!!!

  • wow 47% loss since 1980....

  • Amazing!

  • Damn it, it seems as if destruction is surrounding us. Now bees are going to be our demise.

  • 1st is gay

  • That's a lot of bees :O
