What's wrong with being needy ? We all need..even the girls need. The only case where there will be no need is when it is not love,..just some time pass(fuckbuddies).A long term relation will always be a give and take relation. If we stop looking for a girlfriend or a boyfriend , then the whole 'dont be needy' issue is irrelevant. At the end of the day you will get the life partner you 'need' and 'love'. If I dont need someone, why should I want to spend my life with her? LOL.

@rainbowseaweed I disagree. I do like a good fart joke every now and then, but they get old relatively quickly, in the same way that knock knock jokes and sex jokes also get old relatively quickly. In fact, I think the only jokes that don't get old that fast are nerd jokes along the lines of Hank's 41 jokes for nerds.
Somehow I think it's a lot easier to get girls to like you if you're also a girl. I used to think it was harder being a dyke but I'm not so sure about that.

For someone who is of the possibly most oppressed mix of stereotypes for girls (extreme tomboy and an intellectual) John's view on girls is kind of unjust. The thing about girls having an internal alarm inside their head is sort of very true. I guess it's because girls think a lot, and when boys start getting "needy" we notice, and if you're a girl who is cautious with relationships like I am it's kind of scary, so sorry boys of the world. I also think that the best way to get a girl to like you is to be her best friend. (and to make her laugh, that's good too.)

For someone who is of the possibly most oppressed mix of stereotypes for girls (extreme tomboy and an intellectual) John's view on girls is kind of unjust. Don't get me wrong, most girls out there are the type who think sneezy panda bears are cute and hate school and think snakes and spiders are scary and gross and who hates video games and who giggle incessantly whenever the opposite sex walks by, but girls like me aren't. We're the opposite. Ps, Nerd girls are looking for cool nerd guys too.

The thing about girls having an internal alarm inside their head is sort of very true. I guess it's because girls think a lot, and when boys start getting "needy" we notice, and if you're a girl who is cautious with relationships like I am it's kind of scary, so sorry boys of the world. I also think that the best way to get a girl to like you is to be her best friend. (and to make her laugh, that's good too.)

As a kind of counter-point to the not being too needy - I just want to say that boys should try and find the balance between needy and distant! Don't be clingy and panicky if they don't talk with you all the time, but then again, not talking with them can make the whole situation flip.

It's really not hard to pick up girls. You just need to educate yourself and luckily, there's some sick guides out there. "The Game" by Neil Strauss started things off for me and most recently, I've been using the techniques from P.Box
Here's what you need to do
Step 1: Go to MackMethods. com
Step 2: Get the "pandoras box" program
Step 3: Use the tips and blend it in with your own twist
Picking up girls is a skill. Educate yourself and you'll laugh at how easy it is.

My boyfriend certainly was. I'm the one that asked him out. My suggestion for you is to befriend them, and then maybe just ask one of them if they want to hang out sometime. Maybe have lunch together or something. Good luck! :)
