  • hey remy can u pls pls pls do a vid of the tapping lick paul does in technical difficulties video he has with him playing in the studio..

Ive been trying like forever to figure it out...

  • That guitar sounds great as fuck.

  • Thanks so much! I've been trying to figure that one out for ages.

  • Haha, echt de droogste hey guys ever in het begin!

  • Hey Remy, when you play the lick slowly, it sounds like you're playing straight sixteenths all the way through. I can't really tell, but when you speed it up are you doing straight sixteenths, and then playing the last five notes faster (kinda like a group of triplets, except a grouping of five)? It seems to me that's the only way to keep it in 4/4 time (similar to Paul's 11 note pattern that this is based on).

  • Very helpful! Thank you!

  • batman

  • mhh, paul taps on the g and on the d string..

  • @guitarchris93 Hmmm,,,, Let me see if I can clear this up once and for all!

When he starts the lick in the Video( Slowly!!), he taps the d string once to get it started.

When he's at Full speed, He doesn't tap it anymore! I can see that there's some unclearness about this, since the way he pulls-off the Tapping finger goes toward the D string!

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks for watching!

  • Hey Remy. i think that your lick doesn't match exactly what paul is playing. i checked his lesson closely and he seems to tap both the D and the G string, where you only tap the G string. can you check it out? thx

  • Great info. I tried it and actually I can do this with out tapping, my hands are huge. I can tap though. 5/5

  • excellent

thank you very much on this video

  • Very helpful- great chops!

  • Great Remy! Is this also the lick from the Superheroes solo?

  • @orsvend hmmmmm......... I had to listen to it first( again)!:-)

    Not exactly I'm affraid...

It's similair in some bits, but it kind of goes into "Tapping the same fret you're hammering on with your left hand" lick.

    Does that make any sense?

He did a lesson on that kind of lick a few years back for an english magazine.

    It's also on youtube:-)

    Good luck!

    Remy

  • There is always at least ONE asshole that dislikes something even if it's good!

  • Nice!

    Good tone!

    Even better chops!

This is going to help me breath in some fresh air.

    Thanks dude!

  • Great lesson!!! Thanks Remy

  • Hey Remy... in English too ;)

Thanks for your message and your compliment !!

I hope someday we meet in Holland or in France, and we can play Paul Gilbert's song with you and my friends.

    Thanks !!

  • @jerometkd You're very welcome Mon Ami!

It would be fun indeed if some day we could jam!

    Merci Beaucoup!

  • Great lesson! What are you doing/using to get such a nice "PG tone", any pedal you use to get that tone?

  • hey remy one more question doest it matter what ikind of strings u have? cause i picked up some ernie ball strings skinny top heavy?

  • thanks man

  • omg i cant believe you've manage to copy that lick... that was from paul gilbert's extensive lesson right? the one when he's talking about billy sheehan techniques? god you're really good and you really helped me hahaha rock on dude

  • Glad that there are people around the world like you that got deep in paul's style of playing . its a big honor man . keep playing you're a true shredder .

  • Thank you very much! But it's not easy at all, gotta go practice now :)

  • doesn't he use that in "shy boy"? great stuff by the way, you're as close to paul's tone as possible.

  • Turn the light on. Good video btw.

  • damn you'r too awesome for youtube xD

  • Thanks Remy! That DID help!

I was actually playing like Paul said in his video with "tapping whenever pick occurs" and now I see that it was totally wrong :D

  • @NowaqP Glad it helped man!

  • question: do you have perfect pitch or extremely good relative pitch because i can't even begin to understand how amazing you are

  • aaah ive been trying to figure this one out for a while now, thanks a lot remy :P

  • @eleph4nt Glad I could help!

  • thanks

  • cool, can you make one on palm muting, to improve on silencing the higher string?

  • @BelgianDan I'll look into that!

  • @remyhansen thank you :o)

  • @remyhansen That would help me too, it would be great if you did a little quickie on that. :)

  • Great! Thanks!

  • awesome skill man

  • Jeez! Amazing man, it'll take me a long while to get that down. Thanks!

  • great post thanks Remy

    Alex.
