  • Many greyhounds are KILLED after the races if they get old or do not come in a good place. You still think this is acceptable?

  • @EShafiroff You obviously have never been involved in greyhound racing and are believing the REAL greedy liars at grey2k. Do some research before you make comments

  • poor dogs can't have a normal loving life. All they do is run in circles for people to have a chance to earn money and fame. same goes to horse racing.

  • @rosycheeks44 they do have a normal loving life. i have racing greyhounds and there the happiest, ive always treated them kindly. Also this breed of dog was born to hunt thats why they can run 45 mph running machines they are most happy when running as fast as they can and werent made to sit around on couches getting fat , that is the cruelty. Another thing is that there isnt a huge amount of money in greyhound racing compared to the horse and people just do it as a hobby.

  • @jutastokes

This is cool and fun for the dogs, how is this cruel? It is a great way for them to release energy and show off their amazing talent.

  • @Pilotfanboy I guess you don't know ANYTHING about greyhound racing. First off, the dogs that do not win are usually killed afterwards by the humans. Is that enough to make you pick up a book?

  • Here's a different idea - learn how to compete in something yourself and leave the dogs alone. This industry is inherently cruel and I look forward to the day that it's just another part of our cringe-worthy history.

  • your track wants rolling they will get knocked up toes for running on that surface

  • nice one....

  • I will say this: I have three ex racers. I've nothing against trainers who look after their dogs and find them good homes after racing.

    But remember:

Nice trainers are the exception, not the rule

The woman who runs our retired greyhound trust branch, recently had a call from a trainer who asked would they take in a grey as it broke it's leg, its trainer was going to have it put down, he said if I save it, will you take it in and find him a good home, so there are some good trainers out there!

  • I have adopted 4 ex-racers. 3 are the greatest dogs I've ever had. Quiet, gentle and friendly. One actively seeks out people to pet him. The 4th is extremely shy. We were asked to take her in because she was unadoptable. After two years of work & patience, she's a decent pet but has to be handled very gently. How is it decided which dogs are going to be trained to race? Hard to believe this little girl ever managed to run a race. Her records shows only 8 races.

  • Forever not forced sry ( that's means sorry, oldies) my iPhone corrects me

  • No one my age knows how to spells that! Anyways, stop harassing me you FRICKIN stalker! You are harassing a kids! Are you gonna like stalk me like forced! Plus I have better thugs to do that fight with retarded stlaker rapists on the Internet! Stop harassing me! (btw it's illegal) (btw 'btw' means by the way incase y'all oldies don't unstand)

  • @MyAwesomeWorld Incase you don't know we all become oldies, oldies but goldies

  • Why can't you people who are like 20 years older than me act at lear as mature as I can. I don't want to continue this convosation, it bores me to hear you 60 years olders complain about how if abused dogs are treated nicely it's wrong. So stop commentig and at least act like your 13, dear god you people need help.

  • Look. 1st of all the dogs love the track love it love it love.

2nd' of all the dogs do NOT get put down or shot or whatever u wanna call it after they are re-tierd.

i'm a kennel handler for a greyhound trainer in the uk.

spanish trainers kill there dogs. because there horrible discusting low life scumbs.

the dogs are treated very well. they are fed everyday. groomed once a week. get let our 4 times a day in the padocks.

i love the dogs and im proud to be apart of greyhound racing :D

  • @AmberDaresYou some of them do!i've seen pics of a not so turkey dinner made out of greyhounds!

  • I miss the Mile High track Torri Morris and Pat Collins dogs were 70% always on the money.

  • this retarded fight is childish. wow, im more mature than adults. that shows how obnocshish poeple really are. outro losers.

  • @MyAwesomeWorld please, before you go ranting on about how 'obnocshish' people are, learn how to spell 'obnoxious'

  • Yeah, they are happy running, but when they aren't owned, they get shot in the head. its good that u own them, but what about the ones who aren't? And th like running for FUN, not for work.

  • This is a horrible practice that should be illegal! They way those dogs are treated is cruel. I have two retired racers and I don't even want to think of the trama they went through.

  • @bunny7997 I have three retired racers and they've all been treated excellently - I think it depends on how good the dog was at racing and the type of trainer. it shouldn't be like that - but thats how it is.

  • @Perscriptions Because, she makes those poor things do all the work that SHE gets the damn money for, and acts like it's no big deal, when it is, because this sport should be elegal. I with u, man. Torri should die in the place of these dogs.

  • WHAT Do you mean the kind lady who trains the greyhounds in this video?! WHAT Shes a nice trainer! Leave her be!

  • @Perscriptions I KNOW RIGHT!

  • These dogs are treated like disposable commodities. The amount of money a dog generates determines his or her expendability. Greyhounds deserve to be treated like pets, just like other dogs, not as a commodity in an industry that exists to exploit them for money. This sport is predicated on over-breeding in an attempt to find the one good runner, many will be put down, some while still puppies. Now, as these tracks become less popular the tracks are seeking tax relief and subsidies.

  • Dog racing is a great sport keep it up!

  • @nogamess in many cases, dogs are put to sleep if they do not come in a good place. still a good sport?

  • only watched this for research. and I agree with Persciptions. UR R ABUSING LIVING CREATERS!

  • @MyAwesomeWorld you would probably rather they be fat house pets hu? Haven't you ever seen a dog chase a squirrel? Why is it cruel if the squirrel is fake?

  • @ErinKeechak It cruel because they don't want to do it. Notice how THIN and SAD they look. They are also CRYING and WHINING. Think they like? Would you like to live that fantastic life of glamor.I happened to have a greyhound, a retired one. She runs when she wants to but, yes, she is a coachpotateo, and she's THIN, not as thin as these poor creaters are though. She loves us and whenever we call her by her racing name she leaves the room (not a joke). And the squirrel just trains them to hunt.

  • @MyAwesomeWorld Have you ever MET a working dog? my dogs will cry and whine when they see a rabbit outside and If I open the door they would take off at full speed to chase after it just like these greyhounds no training nessisary do you honistly think they need to be trained to chase a fake squirrel? you don't think that hundreds of years of breeding for hunting has anything to do with it?

  • @ErinKeechak i dont give a damn about the squirrel! the dogs shouldnt be encuraged, but that's not even a big deal. the big deal is that these dogs sleep in cages and race for no reason, except to get money. isn't it better for the dogs to be owned by a loving family, who'll feed them and love them and take care of them when they get hurt. it's almost like your saying a child should race for money, instead of be owned by a family. same thing. they both are alive, and eat, and breathe.

  • @ErinKeechak I thought since you have dogs you'd understand. Would you rather have your dogs race, or be your's? It's an easy question, eh? But you also don't have a greyhound, so you don't know how they live. My poor Ashley still has scares from dogfights....from 6 years ago. An awful reminder.... Also, one more thing. Are your dogs lazy and fat, because they live in a house, with loving people. So, is it true, are housepets fat? They sure don't look fat. They look happy.

  • @MyAwesomeWorld I also work my dogs in stock trials and I have done a pulling race with them, and they ARE mine. I also know a woman who owns 9 greyhounds and races 4 of them in these races the rest of her hounds are her retired dogs. I can assure you ALL of her dogs are very happy and healthy and love to run around in the backyard when they arn't at the track. when it's time to go to the track they excitedly jump into her car to go.

  • @ErinKeechak You know what, I'm 13 and I think this is childish, and I know I'm right. My dog hated the track, just likes the millions of racing greyhounds who GET SHOT IN THE FRICKIN HEAD!!! I'm not gonna argue with you, childist dude, so good bye for life.

  • @MyAwesomeWorld Shooting a racing grehound in the head is illigal and the only reason you hear about it is because someone got caught and convicted and it made news. You really need to do your own research kid. Animal Cruelty is ILLIGAL already, anyone abusing greyhounds is already breaking the law. It's also against the rules of racing, If people would follow the rules we wouldn't have any problems. BTW I'm female and I have seen much more than you in my life good and bad.

  • Beleive me my grandmother wprks at a track. They DO NOT shoot the dogs! Maybe some random wack ass weirdo would shoot a dog. But ALL the people working at the track LOVE the dogs!

  • @KIBAfang90 I know a couple who look after and some times train racing greyhounds. They also make sure that the greyhoundsthey have been assigned to have a family waiting for them when they retire. They have adopted one them selfs. They also so said you only ever hear about the people who abuse the dogs.

  • :) yup! Not every place is so terrible :)

  • @ErinKeechak I have three retired greys and I can honestly say they are not fat, they are kept racing fit as this is the only healthy way for a greyhound to be. they are supposed to be thin and extremely fit. which is what ours are. a fat greyhound is as cruel as mistreating one as they will die a painful death as their bodies can't cope with it. so I agree that they shouldnt be fat. But mine are more than happy being healthy house pets

  • @MyAwesomeWorld Hi, I have three ex racers, all three of which came from nice trainers who looked after them very well. They don't all get shot in the head - yes it happens they have their ears cut off to stop them being traced and get sold to labs. We took our three back to the track for a greyhound awareness night and the best racer out of our three loved being back. They do enjoy their job! Also my greys are racing fit even though they're retired. No one wants a fat grey its cruel on the dog.

  • i liked this video :)
