This game was great for the first two chapters, but the last two really made my despise the entire effort of a game.

@ArmaFennica what a bullshit. the graphics of risen are totally awesome (they are good, but not too good for a casual computer. imo, that's just perfect)

it has NOTHING to do with oblivion o.O (except both are rpgs)

the combat system is maybe a bit challenging, but at least it's not a crappy hack&slay bullshit thing..

and @your comment: the first 2 chapters rlly were the best. but if you like the last ones or not depends on what you prefer, and i like fighting monsters in caves xD

@ArmaFennica I agree. Ending chapters are short, boring and unfinished. There was literally NOTHING to do other than the main plot and compared to an AWESOME first chapter (13 hours spent just in it) it is really a blow to the rest of the game :P.

Also final Boss fight sucks.

Good game nevertheless, hopefully they can make the sequel fun throught the WHOLE experience.

The latter part of the fame really made not to support Piranha bytes ever again, so I will not be waiting for the new game. I am utterly done with them.

Shame, as the Risen world could have picked up the original Gothic. They had so much promise, and therefore the downfall was even more disappointing.

Sure, there are -some- similarities, as the game is made by the same team that developed Gothic, but you can hardly call it a remake.

@Fabyanutz There are little "winks" here and there left by the developers for fans of the original Gothic series ;-). Like a farmer in bandit camp named "Rhobar".

Anyway Risen is quite a fine game. The only thing I hold against it is the fact that there is not really much to do in 3rd and 4th chapters (also not very much to do in the second one ;P). I spend 13 hours in the first one and only 5 in 3 others. That never happened in original Gothic xp
