Obviously you need a decent QB to be successful but it really didn't help Randy much, when he played VERY well with Great QB's in their prime and very poorly with decent QB's. Receivers should be able to make their Qb's look good. Just look at what Steve Smith and Jerry Rice did, they helped their QBs (Delhomme and Young) become superstars by bailing them out and make crucial plays.... Randy was unable to do that in Oakland.... Then all of a sudden he gets Brady and his stats boom....

But I remember the excitement of signing Moss, supposedly the best WR in the game it didn't take long to realize what a horrible player he was. Everyone quit on that team. He absolutely dominated when he first got to the team! He was leading the NFL in yardage and TDs before getting injured. The second year, he quit along side everyone else on the team. Or maybe he didn't? It's difficult for a deep threat to get open when he has nagging injuries and two QBs that got sacked a combined 100+ times.

Obviously you need a decent QB to be successful but it really didn't help Randy much, when he played VERY well with Great QB's in their prime and very poorly with decent QB's. Receivers should be able to make their Qb's look good. Just look at what Steve Smith and Jerry Rice did, they helped their QBs (Delhomme and Young) become superstars by bailing them out and make crucial plays.... Randy was unable to do that in Oakland.... Then all of a sudden he gets Brady and his stats boom....

@jrednoring your one of those idiots that thinks culpepper is bad because of his recent years... did you forget he was an MVP candidate in 2004? and threw for 43 tds? I love how people say he's nothing without moss... I guess Moss derailed his career and gave him a torn ACL in 2005.. that must be it.... Also in 1998 Randall Cunningham was a terrific QB 34 tds and 10 ints...

what are your points? culpepper had moss in 04 and randall had moss in 98. Lots of players have a torn acl and they come back just fine.i guess it must be the knee why he throws it directly to the other team every time. randy made it so easy for the qb back then. you could either throw it up to him or throw it to another player who was single covered.Ive heard countless coaches and players that no other player had such an effect on the game plan then randy.sapp said tampa quit runnin the cover 2

Look Randy is the best DEEP THREAT off all time, But not the best WR. He cant run every single route, he's not a precises route runner on slants or up the middle plays, he prefers downfield more where he can utilise his speed. In terms of run blocking.... he's useless. I see a lot of immature kids jumping on Randy cause he makes circus one hand catches in traffic and all of a sudden "HES THE GOAT!!" you have to pay attention to intangibles and not just stats....

then what your trying to say is jerry rice isint that great either because he had montana and young for 90% of his carrer face the fact that yu need a decent QB to be considered a great WR look at randy first year in oakland he had a 1000 yards on 60 rec and 8 tds..........last time i checked those were pretty good numbers considering he had a horrible QB

@doosybone Those are decent #'s but not good numbers..... especially based off how well he did in Minnesota the years prior and the contract he signed... 12 mill a year is not worth 1000 receiving yards and 8 tds.... Obviously Kerry Collins isn't the best QB, but Randy was playing uninspired after week 3 and was dropping nearly everything, and the year after that was even worse...

Also its hardly TO's fault when hes getting 3-4 targets a game with a terrible QB.. N yea his best years may be behind him, but getting a guaranteed 6.5 Mill contract for 1 year at the age of 35 is impressive. Besides Moss only has speed, in a couple years he'll lose that and be terrible...

also for Moss.... he got all 7 of his tds in 3 games... versing terrible secondaries... He got 2 vs. the colts who didnt even have Kelvin Hayden or Sanders, got like 3 vs. tenesse who has the worst secondary in the league... He got shut down by Revis and Bailey.. Not buying it. Bills have played the browns, Bucs, and texans, and no scores for TO. He got shut down by every team! This was dick Juaron's team, so i doubt TO was going deep enough to get over thrown alot. Owens didn't have to go to the Bills. He was a free agent unlike moss who was traded to the raiders. TO put it on himself.
Also Owens is 35 not 37, i doubt owens plays that long.

People People can we please just respect these two great wide recievers. We have watched both dominate the league and go through alot of controversies. Rice is the best and tied in number 2 is Owens and Moss lets leave it at that. There both different wide recievers lets just let them play and enjoy watching them do what they do best.
