  • the imsa has a 20 valve and the trans am has a 25 valve but which one sounds nice?

  • @MrHyper728

The Trans am was a 10valve.

The 25valve was a nother engine, some say that the Audi 200 Talladega had that cylinderhead. And others say that it was the Audi S6 for highspeed runs on Nardo

  • @grondstra the audi tallaga did have the 25v and set the world record of over 400 kph theres a vid of that on you tube

  • i had loads of audis during the 90s, inc 80, 90, coupe gt, 100, 200t, 200quattro, just sold my 2001 nissan terrano and gone back to a mint cond classic 1990 audi 100 2.0e cos there the best, long lived, bullit proof, car made during the last 30 years, and the 5 pot motor is awesome and will do over 300k with regular servicing. car of the century?

  • da pfeifft der turbo

  • @MrHansdampf123 da pfeift kein turbo , was du hörst ist das popoff ventil das anspricht wenn die drosselklappe geschloßen wird ....

  • To further explain, the WG in these cars will usually be a diaphragm type with a fairly light spring, although these might be stiffer than normal, and air bleed to the lower side of diaphragm causes the WG to open. This is either manifold bleed or solenoid controlled bleed from compressor side (the LM cars actually had a pump for this). The WG opens, reduces pressure to the turbine (hot side) which gives a corresponding reduction to compressor side. The exhaust for the WG can be totally separate

  • Many thanks for the detailed explanation..which LM sports cars have your worked on?

  • Saxosmasher you are correct about the separate tower WG - but it's not to prevent turbo stall or reduce lag, the WG is to reduce boost pressure. Blow off valves (whether atmospheric or recirculating) are to reduce turbo stall. The same setup is true of my car and all the turbo Le Mans cars I worked on.

  • SQUIRREL MINCER!! :D

  • german engineering rulesssss!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anti lag...............

  • Those 2 cars are legends!

  • The chirping and chattering comes from the turbo......since they run with no bypass or blow off valve the compressor surges everytime the throttle is shut. Try for yourself......disconnect the bypass/blow off valve and you will get a similar sound.

  • The chirping and chattering comes from the wastegate not a blow off valve. An open wg pipe makes the wg sound louder too ...I have an S2 which will soon be running 450bhp, hopefully! Including open wg exhaust! Oh and never mind Honda lumps, don't bother with a 1.8t either - the 2.2 five cylinder is head and shoulders above for torque :o)

  • no it doesn't! flutter is from not having a blow off valve.

the wastegate has nothing to do with this other than being part of the turbo.

  • Ah yes - I agree ...I take back my previous remark!

  • The wastegate isn't even on the turbo. Its bolted onto the the exhaust manifold and it recirclulates exhaust gas back into the the exhaust manifold to keep the turbo spinning to reduce the turbo lag.

  • Wow, I am going to get an audi 200 now!!! Those b.o.v.'s sound like Turbosmarts? Anyway, those cars have 5cyl turbos... why would you want to put a accord engine in there? ROFL, buy a bigger turbo if you want to waste 3 grand, or buy a new 5cyl from a junkyard! LOL

  • awesome

  • ni normaal tis weer den audi erik salu!!!

  • those auid's have better body kits than some of today's touring cars. IMHO

  • lol, those are real racing cars no aftermarket body kits. Those are 80's IMSA GT Race cars, won the title in america against american and asian manufactors.

  • awesome! and some lucky sods got paid to drive them too!!

and why the f*ck would you wanna fit a honda engine to a 90 Quattro???

if you want a "newer" engine fit a 1.8T outta an A4

  • can a honda 6 cyc engine fit into a audi 90 quattro?

  • Sure, but why'd you do that? Less horsepower, worse sound, more mass (worse handling)... ;)

  • Yes you can. but you need lot of torque for Quattro to work properly, not no torque from honda v-crap

  • whow, how I wish I could be there

  • Nice, i've been there too :)

    In ingolstadt :)
