He played in more NBA games than you, and also Gasol averages a finals appearance each year as a Laker with a 66% win rate.

Im a huge Laker Fan and I will the first to admit that Pau Gasol is not the most athletic 4 man in the nba, he not as big, not as fast, or can jump as high as Amare. But that does not mean he’s soft he uses his god given ability to play as well as he does, sooner or later that will go as his get older during their career. But Pau makes up for it with skill that he will have for the rest of his career. So when you’re just a role player in 7 years from now Amare, Pau will still be there.

Pau, Bynum and Odom give Kobe the room to dominate the backcourt and utilize his mid-range game. They have the skill to body up any bigman in the NBA and keep lanes clear for Kobe to do his work. Also, Pau is one of the best rebounders in the game and one of the best offensive backcourt players out there.
Kobe leads, but he doesn't do it alone. Fischer runs most plays, Bynum and Pau are the primary backcourt and Artest is Mr.Defense. They are all important.
They would only be able to do that if Bynum stepped up his offense and learned how to stay out of foul trouble more consistently. Odom doesn't have the post game to do what Gasol does and Kobe will be averaging 5 more minutes per game if he didn't have the cushion Gasol provides. You know Kobe isn't a spring chicken now, he needs scoring pressure to be taken off him so he can keep fresh and that's what Gasol does.

I am a huge Lakers fan and been so for years but even I have to admit that Pau isn't the toughest guy physically but Amare isn't any tougher but I'll tell you what Pau is tougher minded than most stars out there and not just Amare. It takes more than skills to win a championship and if you guys don't see that then you will never know what it really takes to win a championship.

I just lost respect for Amare. Last year he said Odem sucks and that he get's lucky. I like how players like Amare like to complain about the Lakers size."Oh they got three seven footers that can play". But meanwhile these dudes Gasol and Odem were not wanted by their old teams and the Lakers and Phil Jackson took them in and made them better. Taking a charge on Defense is perhaps one of the toughest things to do. Theres a lot of ways you can get hurt doing that, but tough players do it. Who cares if Pau doesn't go hard in the paint dunking on everybody? He's winning rings and he is considered the most SKILLFUL big men in the LEAGUE. Common son! What made Shaq so dominate was that he had both toughness and skills. Now taking a charge from Shaq and getting back up is HARD! lol

I have to admit as a LAKER FAN after that game tonight vs the Warriors PAU GASOL DID PLAY SOFT. He played SO SOFT LAST GAME. Overall he is better than Amare and the best big man in the game. He just needs to bulk up a bit and be aggressive instead of being SOFT.

Im a huge Laker Fan and I will the first to admit that Pau Gasol is not the most athletic 4 man in the nba, he not as big, not as fast, or can jump as high as Amare. But that does not mean he’s soft he uses his god given ability to play as well as he does, sooner or later that will go as his get older during their career. But Pau makes up for it with skill that he will have for the rest of his career. So when you’re just a role player in 7 years from now Amare, Pau will still be there.

Amar'e shouldn't talk because he rarely plays defense and constantly lets opposing players penetrate the lane without putting his body in front of them. When he starts playing suffocating defense, and sacrifices his body on the defensive end, then he can say Gasol is soft. Right now, I think he's out of line to say that. @mexicansareweak ok so who guarded dwight howard mostly during the 09 finals?? And kobe didnt make the finals until the very first yr pau came so he still had and still has a huge impact on this lakers team. They've made 3 straight finals apperances.

Pau, Bynum and Odom give Kobe the room to dominate the backcourt and utilize his mid-range game. They have the skill to body up any bigman in the NBA and keep lanes clear for Kobe to do his work. Also, Pau is one of the best rebounders in the game and one of the best offensive backcourt players out there.
Kobe leads, but he doesn't do it alone. Fischer runs most plays, Bynum and Pau are the primary backcourt and Artest is Mr.Defense. They are all important.

They would only be able to do that if Bynum stepped up his offense and learned how to stay out of foul trouble more consistently. Odom doesn't have the post game to do what Gasol does and Kobe will be averaging 5 more minutes per game if he didn't have the cushion Gasol provides. You know Kobe isn't a spring chicken now, he needs scoring pressure to be taken off him so he can keep fresh and that's what Gasol does.
The man is important, he is LALs offensive backcourt.

They'd probably find a way but....If pau were to not play then we would have to bring odom in the the starting lineup. and have rookie derrick character play and vet theo ratliff. Bench is still a big part of the team and that is a big downfall. That means odom or bynum would be playing more mins than usual to help the bench bigs.

Look at all these LA Faker fans getting their panties in a twist because Amare dissed their beloved Pau.
Pau did very little to contribute to the Fakers last 2 tainted titles. The Faker team is basically Kobe and not much else.

@RicardoB92 Im a lakers fan and i know pau gasol is a soft player, but just like what ron artest said. He still puts up 20 and 10 numbers and hes got the whole lakers team. Its not the los angeles pau gasols.
