  • This track is so amazing! It was released in 1983 yet still listened to by dancers of 14 etc..

  • u get beat up on a song? lol

  • Lol!!! Break dancing total 80's b boy style

  • C'est de la merde. Droit de la hotte.

  • This was the best song to poplock to back in the days...i spent my allowance money to buy the 45 and i still have it.

  • Art of Noise > Skrillex and Deadmau5 combined

  • Damn,...this beat still bangs.

    ART OF NOISE FOREVER!!!

  • MUSIC FROM THE DANCE BATTLE ON BREAKIN THE MOVIE:TURBO,OZONE,CHRIS THE GLOVE TAYLOR,ICE-T.

  • Classic.

  • Lots of folks commenting on this song are from NY. Wonder if it got mad airplay anyplace else

  • @soulsista1220 Yes, it did get tons of airplay in and around the NYC area. I was only 8 year old and living an hour outside the city in CT when this came out but it was breakthough and different that's why I fell in love with this song. It would play at least 4 - 5 times a day on the radio. LOVE LOVE LOVE this track!!

  • @CarlosMendez003 I'm from LI...i loved the beat and the originality too--I still rock it lol

  • @CarlosMendez003 I'm from upstate NY near the capital and I don't recall hearing this on the radio. Just in the clubs. (Where I could be seen on weekends even tho I was only 16. Lol)

  • @soulsista1220 Yes it did.It got play nationwide on all R&B stations.

  • @soulsista1220 Hey I was a bit older than some of those 8 year olds but I remember hearing this track in Sydney on JJJ. Blew me away then and still does. Took me ages to import the vinyl (CD's weren't around then - just). Been madly in love with music concrete and digital sound production ever since. But on the other hand JJJ was the only station in Aus I knew of that played it.

  • @ErlofCambridge Aus is....?

  • @soulsista1220 Aus is Australia also known as Oz. Art of Noise used a Fairlight CMI (computer musical instrument) built and developed in Sydney Austalia (trivia for the day)

  • This got major play on my turntable...Peace.

  • UK listeners will recognise samples from 1:56 'Quiet Please' from Wimbledon and 'Debbie McGee' from Pauls Daniels Magic show.

  • I tell you what many rap artist cannot pull off lyrics over this but I have one in mind that one is Busta Rhymes, HIs voice is powerful and he has the energy to do it, but the rhyme has to be tight.

  • @tam196939 Listen to Tech N9ne "Bout to Bubble" over this beat! It is the BOMB!

  • @tam196939 Battles by blunt blades, dead dreams dare faded away. Gog and Magog as you stupid people vote for the your next leader to sway you away to the next battle field filled fond fires flares and blaze your crooked hearts dismay.you asked for it so take your stark dark mark and bark like a dog to your god.a Hibernation straight to the gas chambers. a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hand to sleep. where is the beat when bombs blasting you sixfeet deep. silence speaks.

  • @solidust23 thys aint really @ u jus rhymin @

  • @sexyssilverfox Not to also mention the Puma Baskets and the sheepskin coats, too.

  • sounds like a nightmare

  • I always wished i had the coordination to break dance and this song makes me wish harder. That's why I DJ'd back in the day. I knew which songs to play to get the dance floor hype.

  • Way ahead of its time asthetically speaking. samples cut an spliced with tape, it took a long time to do it like that back then. Now it can be done in seconds with Pro Tools or some other digital recording software. These guys made it flawless back when it was done by ear and by hand. Much respect..

  • I use to beat up kids with this song !

  • @renzobball2k11 I used to beat one of over your mums tits!

  • @renzobball2k11 haha, i bet you played it loud as heck too!

  • B-Boy "Getdown" 1 of the many great pieces of music written by the A.O.N.

  • @soliddust23 hahahahahahaha! I wasn't expecting that. That was funny. Hope you were alright.

  • i got beat up to this song :(

  • @solidust23 Sorry for the bad memories..lol.

  • @LePhunkDunk LoL

  • @solidust23 ROTFLMAO !! Well did they at least keep to the beat , and stomp the crap out of you on the downbeat ? ... that shit made my day !!! ROTFLMAO !!! ... my bad ... I had to laugh at that . I would have never told anybody that ! LOL

  • @solidust23 No you didn't...it was just a bad dream. This song does something like that to everyone who listens. That odd memory means it's working, LOL. When I hear it for some reason I am running through a corn field with long Blonde hair...I look glorious!

  • @nuwbun1rb smart guy. your right i didnt get beat up, but i do imagine wars and rumorse of wars, and this is a good piece to write to. i think the song says "we all desire to die over and over again, so plan the next war".

  • @solidust23 thats the funniest thing i ever read

  • @solidust23 Damn homie. I just hope it wasnt that extended version with extra beats and scratches

  • @solid i don't understand why anyone want to do that; Unless of course, your talking about ignorANT INBREEDS.

  • @solidust23 there are worse songs to get beat up to.

  • @solidust23 Damn. Where the hell was u at? Lol

  • @solidust23 Man, that's rough. :o(

  • Time for me to bring out the cardboard box and breakdance for the 2012!!!! LOL

  • @farscape67 yeeah buddy

  • The drums on this track don't get no harder than this. This is a straight up classic. Dubstep ain't got shit on this.

  • it is hard as fuck ... your bass foot is hurting by the time you are done ... my fourth attempt was when I realized it was a drum machine that made this track .... it can be done , but it's hell !!

  • Time-warp to some beautiful moments. Pioneering big beats... This will ALWAYS be dope.

  • I love Beethoven, 'Carmen,' a good gospel choir, and just about everything else (in varying doses), but damn.... slammin' percussion is what always reminds me I have a heartbeat, and this is what drives it. How can anyone sit down while listening to this? The living, thriving heart and the thrusting pelvis inspired the drum, and now the drum in turn inspires them. Life and music.... unbeatable.

  • how could 5 people dislike this video ?? This song track as if God came down to Earth to record this masterpiece and left it for future generations to learn from it. Notice the sound quality. Art of Noise recorded their stuff with such high quality that even todays music doesn't sound this perfect.

  • @ExclusiveLM Trevor Horn late of the rock band YES he also produced in the 70's

  • i used to break-dance & pop-lock to this song back in 1984, awwwwww fuck it, im'ma start doing it again, hip hop is the true fountain of youth.

  • Damn... I'm breakin down cardboard right now makin my platform!

  • @hoppyhas7 Can I centipede with you?

  • Man...I remember battlin' to this song. Can't move like that anymore.
