I read CRISIS as a kid over and over and over again and I still love it, but honestly, I never understood the stated "need" for it (cleaning up and streamlining the DC Multiverse). I had no problem keep track of Earths-1, -2, -3, -4, -S, -X, and the various future timelines, and I was TEN YEARS OLD. Crazy sprawling universes are an asset to the superhero medium, not a detriment.
i did wonder if this was connected to infinite crisis but wasnt to sure. I wanna read this just to find out more about the anti-monitor, havent read sinestro corp but luckily i already knew about him so phew lol
The stuff about it being massive is true. It almost exhausting to read it, because there's so much going on from page to page, let alone issue to issue.
Lucky for me, I got it in Absolute Edition, so the oversized printing and glossy paper really lets you drink in the art and story slowly.
You can get this book for £10 here at Forbidden Planet at London. BTW, Crisis on Infinite Earths was f'ing brilliant, so so epic, dark, read it last year. Too bad the other Crisis series paled.
I've been wanting to read this, but it's just so expensive, and I'm not even sure if I'd like it. Basically at the book store it's either 2 or 3 other Graphic Novels or Crisis. I always choose the former.
On a side note, I wouldn't consider it a complete failure. Though that's because the only DC Universe I've know my whole life was the post-crisis one.(born in 1986)
Well after 20 years of continuity things get messy. I'm thinking they'll revamp every 20 years from now on. The funny thing is. In one of the last pre-crisis Batman stories, Phantom Strangere mention that every 20 years a young Bruce Wayne loses his parents in a robbery, in another demension. Hinting why thing seem to revamp every 20 years.
@subfighter316 I know the one you're probably thinking of. The Phantom Stranger takes Bruce and Dick to another world that is 20 years "later". In it, "Our" Batman prevents the shooting of martha and Thomas, so in this world, Bruce doesn't become the Batman out of revenge, but out of gratitude. But there will still, nonetheless, be a Batman.
Yanirakarola, alex doesn't have anything ill on ethnic characters, you're way overreacting. he's saying that why have a different doctor light when there is already a doctor light and just because he's not a minority? if your going to do that then do it somewhere not as big as coie or have a prelude. example; renee montoya becoming the question on 52
2:10-2:40 He eats universes none stop? Hmmm...kinda sounds like Galactus to me, the only difference being that Galactus is the Devourer of Worlds. However, you could say that those world become galaxyies, universes solar systems etc (through the quantity that he devourers)
I'M ACTUALLY READING IT RIGHT NOW AND I FUKEN LUUUV IT KOOL POST BRO

Over 2 years old is this video but I have to get this down for the record.
I don't agree with you assessment of 'Crisis on infinte earths' and launching new characters off an old one in a maxiseries is THE best time to do it.

good review man
yes, it is so intense to read.
I read other comics at the same time I'm reading the Crisis mostly because the events overwhelm you if you easily.
Congrats man, I liked how you did all the review in a single shot
good job

It's not a COMPLETE failure, but at this point, all the stuff they "cleaned up" has "gotten dirty again."

@pederad Yeah. that's the story. It was good. I liked how it showed that no matter what Bruce was always destined to be the Bat.
