Ah, in Windows 7, I just changed the 'compatibility' settings in 'properties' for MSN Messenger 7.0 - by clicking 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' - and chosing 'Windows 2000', and this old version works! Fantastic!

I can't install it. Everytime I run it, it says it stopped working and that stupid regedit fix doesn't work because there isn't even an MSNmessenger directory in my hkey current user. I Couldn't even watch this video on firefox because the flash plugin doesn't want to install.

@eminemrlz Yes it is... I've just uninstalled it and replaced it with Windows Live 2009. I feel like a surgeon who just removed a malignant tumour. I plan to stick with WLM 2009 until WLM 2011 looks like something barely approaching a finished product. It should never have been unleashed on the public in its current lousy state.

Really hate this new messenger... I don't need more connectivity with other websites, it freezes constantly whenever i try video calls or photo sharing, then wont sign in again... Smileys look ugly as sin, except for :O and my biggest grip, why the hell make tabbed chat windows? now i can have multiple convos on the screen at the same time. I have to flit between, and it runs like a damn snail when ive got about 4 or so convos going on at once.

A buggy mess, and i want to downgrade...

I have had problem after problem since downloading msn 2011...a contact comes online and i instantly get signed out..i sign in appearing offline then go to appear online and nothing happens..you also can't appear offline and chat to people anymore...you can't select to show what you're listening unless you go into the menu...you can't change your nickname...if i could i would go back to the older version....

msn sucks. the only reason that im using it is that everyone in my country uses it. the program is way too big. uses an unnecessary big amount of cpu power and memory. there's ads in it. why does everyone keep using it? perhaps I already answered my own question.

@poppinboodle its called a dell dock. if you own a dell you can google it and download it. but it only works on a dell. if you want something similar to it you can go to stardock.com and they have something just like it. hope this helps
