@Oisin095 So I can assume you are agreeing with me when i said " if the extremist side of Islam would lighten up and relax with a frosty beer perhaps things wouldn't have to be so bad."? And my statement continued on to cover all extremists of every creed. Anyone going out to kill in the name of God instead of having a cordial banter with a person with a different view (not unlike ourselves, here) is a hypocrite and an asshole.
@notfrombayside well christians and muslims are going to fight and that's just the way things are going to be... the IRA just wants Ireland back in Irish control, it's no different then if the Native American tribes (Tsalagi a.k.a Cheeroke in my case) were to raise up and drive away the usurpers. I' not saying it is a polite method, but it IS a method. I can't say I care for civilians getting hurt is fine though, I can not abide sloppiness. -prepares for hate mail-
@RikuIshmaru Well The British has caused so many problems across the world, Yet No one mentions a thing about what they have done. The Brits Owned Slaves They sent The Irish to Numerous Locations across the world that they have conqured. George Washington and Americas Forefathers fought the British. If We had AK's Armalites and pipe bombs don't think for a second that we would have used the same tactics that the Provos used in Belfast to run the brits UP THE RA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ManicPoetRyRy I understand, and I wasn't dissing on the IRA or anyone who is willing to take up arms for what they believe in, in fact I admire and respect it... I just hate to see people who didn't mean to be in the wrong place at the wrong time get hurt... but if it is the cost of freedom, then the people who live to see freedom should honor the dead for the price they have paid... Viva la Revolucion!

@Oisin095. I didn't say Muslims were Pagans, i was refering that, for contemporary purposes, they should exchange "Pagans" for "Muslims" in the lyrics so as to include the 3 main religions and because if the extremist side of Islam would lighten up and relax with a frosty beer perhaps things wouldn't have to be so bad. But the same could be said for all hardliners. Sorry to the Budhists & Hindus, i didn't forget you guys.
@Oisin095. Anybody so occupied about getting into Heaven or about how they think how God wants them to act that they're willing to kill seems hypocritical to me. And i am Catholic.
@bbucks100- Don't see many Pagans these days. For contemporary purposes it should be "Muslim", they need to kick back and relax with a pint of Rare Old Mountain Dew. Maybe then they would calm the fuck down.
"Away with your pills! It'll cure all ills, be yeh Muslim, Christian or Jew! So take off your coat and grease your throat with a bucket full o' Mountain Dew!"
they are saying in the song pot-sheen , spelled in irish gaelic poteen, it is what we call moon shine in america. whiskey was invented in Ireland, in gaelic i don't know how to spell it but there is a word ish ka baa , sounds like this. and it mean water of life, this is what they call whiskey, Drohegda
thank you ChicagoGael122, no excuse but it has been years since i have taken Gaelic lessons. Slan go foill! Nollaig shona Dhiut! Happy Christmas to you. and all your loved one. Drohegda
@graz2ak ye i know but the anglicized word in english is poteen. een in english being a gaelicized version of small ...ie.. irish: Bótharín english: small road.......irish: Cúlín english: Point (small goal .. cúl being irish for goal)
@TheRebelman95 Well... There's nothing to be embarassed about what your nationality is. Now, unless you're an immigrant, then it's fine to be who you are (if you get me drift), So... yeah, nothing to be embarrassed about
@AriochStarr Well my mom cant stand the irish cuz lets be honest, we like a flagon of ale now and again... well alot of flaggons, more like a cask of ale. So shes embarassed because our familys get togethers are always crazy. But were irish and she just has to live with it while we bask in the glory that is our heritage.
I'm a rambler,I'm a gambler,I'm a long way from home. And if you dont like me,then leave me alone.I'll eat when I'm hungry,I'll drink when I'm dry,and if moonshine dont kill me,I'll live till I die.GOD SAVE IRELAND cried the heroes.
Brilliant! I seriously would never have thought that! I meant what artist is the earliest known to have had this on a recording or the one likely to have written it.
