  • oh I read the news about the Freight Train company if they do tunnel or cover trench they need Ventalay for the Tunnels because Diesel fumes filles up the tunnels and it could killed the passenger onboard Caltrain and high speed train.

  • @sideslide23 The retaining wall solution was used in the city of Cardiff, Wales. It isn't too terrible, as there are frequent bridges and pedestrian underpasses to not cut the city in two. From my perspective, it didn't make much difference if it was on stilts the whole way or filled in with earth embankments in parts, it appeared to provide plenty of opportunities to pass under the Great Western line as it passed through the city centre. Just my 2 cents.

  • Full trench would probably be the best choice. As much as I like the cheapest option (elevated structure) the trench would probably eliminate the bitching and complaining from Palo Alto and would not be close to the cost of a tunnel. But still, I say Palo Alto should pay for whatever extra amount is cost to put this thing in a trench instead of an elevated structure. Not all of California should have to pay to hide the tracks in this town just because a few people are afraid of how it'll look

  • full trench is the best choice.
