  • R.I.P Ari Up

  • wats the song at the beginning of the video

  • I like this documentary because all the invidicual eye witnesses are absicly, sometimes even under their breath saying things they saw and what they thought and tiny little crutial details that happened. Which cuts threw all the media when they were blowing up everything at the time it was happening.

  • song of the minute 0:34 please

  • There's too much Chrissie Hynde in this documentary. She's really annoying.

  • thats stupid that she says punk died because they started learnin how to play their instruments when bands like black flag had fucking skill its not about sucking its about a message.

  • @unseenqueen1015 i agree with ya bra

  • The girl in this video is dumb.

  • Everyone, I have made a video about boy bands and the music buisness and talking about underground music. You TUbe have tried to dissable the sound but I put the text in the "Description" box under the screen. Please come and check it out!

  • Crass actually got banned from the Roxy. How punk is that?

  • Haha, that's classic.

  • ari up had a stroke or has her rasta thing gone toooo far

  • this film really misses on very important aspects of punk. it misses out on scandi scene and japanese scene jeez.

  • whats the banshees song at 2:00? just curious

  • The Siouxsie and the Banshees song is "Bad Shape". There is a video here on YouTube of the performance.

  • Thanks for the post. I wish I could see all the Roxy footage with Don Letts, Mick Jones, The Slits, Chrissie Hynde, Billy Idol & Johnny Thunders. Of course nothing like that is around nowadays: I've been trying to find a drummer & a bass-player in London for a real kickass R&R band with the Punk spirit for 2 years now & I just get people stuck into the past, who wanna do tribute & cover bands, with absolutely nothing to say, no original idea of their own, no sense of art, urgency, rebellion

  • typical girls

  • Could someone tell me the name of the song that begins playing at 0:48?

  • I love how these colonialist brits think that they are not the colonialists....what a bunch of crap

  • Can't wait to see the slits this summer!!!

  • Fuck your nationality you cunts! just watch the fucking video!

  • Yes, fuck that noise, listen to THIS noise!

  • @disoda thank you! Music is music...

  • I saw this on DVD recently, and it really opened my eyes to the wider reaches of punk rock. I don't think I ever knew who the MC5 were before this.

  • That commentator with the Ramones t-shirt is a real dick! Most bands that break America, break England first!

  • lol i love that guy. England is America's retarded cousin

  • Hardly! America as a country has boring taste in music! Which is why alot of bands from the US that are abit different

break England first... Because England as a nation aren't afraid to give different types of music a go.

  • ill give u that. But we invent everything

  • Very true, but i fail to see what that has to do with music and punk rock???

  • You invent everything??!! Cheeseburgers and slavery?

    Google Scottish inventions.

  • Your an idiot

  • and your an arsehole

  • I'm American, and I can say we didn't invent slavery, probably not even cheeseburgers. We steal ideas constantly...I miss living in Europe lol.

  • i think cheese burgers was you guys slavery was the Babylonians

  • yeah...it's good that we help obesity with our inventions :)

  • shut up , you silly mooncalf. Any rock musician from England from the 60's, 70's were influenced by American music. BTW, we've seen your music charts . They smell like girlie farts.

  • Yes but we were better at it than you guys!

And we've seen your lardass music charts, they stink! You guy's are more likely to be farting louder since more of your country are fatties! LOL.

  • at least we have teeth, How do you chew yer meat pies?

  • You won't have for long if you keep on expanding south, all fat people have bad teeth! And America is a nation of lardasses!

  • YOU USED LARDASS TWICE.

  • DADDY WAS A BANKROBBER favourite clash song.

  • BUT HE NEVER HRUT NOBODYYYYYYYYY

  • a lot of these old sods hold back...admit it! You 77 generation folk blew your load too fast, that's why you spawned crap like Crass and the like!

  • does any one know the names/artists of the Ska/dub songs in this clip?

  • the band with girl singing is the slits

  • na, I mean the reggae stuff that starts when they mention Don Letts, like around 2:20 and 3:00.

  • The song that starts at 2:50 is Tappa Zukie - Dub MPLA

  • ari up's appearance scares the shit out of me

  • Punk+Reggae=Ska

  • ska was a combo of american R&B and traditional jamaican island music like calypso in the 1960's. from ska, evolved rocksteady, which spawned reggae.

  • ska came before reggae.. and reggae came before punk... cartoonist2000 pretty much hit the nail on the head.

  • You're what you want, you do what you want !

Be free man ! BE FREE !!

  • Whats the live song by the slits on here about borrowing money? The slits are good but I can never find that song

  • Did u ever figure out that slits song. ive been trying to find it too.
