Update. Still watching, but now it's making me angry. Corporate shit that does not care about the mighty legacy at all, but chews on a stale formula that has no connection to what Falk spent a lifetime on. Sad, and as some other dude already pointed out: from the perspective of a fan this is almost insulting. It's like me directing a movie about, say, Sarah Palin.

This sucks. There is a strong history behind the original suit...amongst everything that makes up The Phantom. With the right writer and director not mention actor....there is a great possiblity that a good Phantom movie can be made. This crap is insulting.
Why is it when Hollywood makes a reboot/series of a cool comic-character they always screw up the original costumes and it becomes a shadow of the original costumes???
I loved Billy Zane's take on the Phantom. He had a serious build and with todays technology it would be super trippy. This new series looks a some made for TV garbage and his head dress is well, it looks not so impressive lets just say that.
i like the spin on the suit. The phantom was ever changing. With each new era, the phantom adapted to the times. thats what made him so good.....or I should say made them so good. I love the classic suit, but in this day and age, no one would take him serious if he wore that suit. Maybe the designers could have made it less bulky looking, but all in all, I think it works
Is it a TV show about The Phantom, or RoboCop? Too bad, cause I think it deserves a way better suit. It would be really great without it. I'm telling this to the costume designer: Hey! If there's serie 2, change the costume!!!

hey comon you cannot change the costume. No We hate it. You cannot change some well established superhero's costume after say1936-2010. Or if you see as per the story 1526 to the present they had that costume you cannot change a superhero costume just like that. Thats orriginal you should never change it. we are not gonna watch this phantom anymore unless you bring back the original phantom suit.

Well, they rather use mobile phones and skype than drums. The original phamtom was set in the first half of the century around Bengal. These guys don´t want any nostalgia shit and they go IPAD IPHONE and IPOD on you. And of course they changed the uniform tights for kevlar. I watched this the other day i saw it and i was like omg they have a sequel to billy zanes movie nad its a tv direct...then i learned it was a series...i dunno if its gonna last and the fact his costume sucks theoriginal is better update yeah sure but not the extreme whats next giant robot spider in the third act?

to be honest the story is not bad and better done then the billy zane thing ..but that costume is sooo bad!! and probly not gonna be aired at the right time...they should do the shadow and set it back in the 40's like the radio show id love to see that..

The costume is horrible.
I would love to see the Shadow done well. The era is crucial though and it seems all the rage these days to make everything in the "now" and update it for what they *think* the audience wants to see.
