The ancient Solfeggio scale had only a few notes & no octaves. Without it on our history you would not have the contemporary music scale to make pop music for 16 year old's. Both are valid forms as for annoying & repetitive cords that is also how many people describe pop music. Do not confuse yourself with Beethoven or Mozart. You are a good musician, but keep this in mind, there are many styles & they are all valid.
