  • the man might as well run for president. honestly can't think of anyone more well-suited.

  • i thoght this was a political speech then i remembered john steward is a comidian

  • @WARcry60 His name is Jon Stewart, not John Steward. He is a comedian, not a comidian. Clearly you didn't "thoght" very much.

  • Um that shouldn't restore your sanity Jon.

As soon as those ppl in those cars you talked about show up together, you might get it back for real, but this was just a bunch of liberals.

I like Jon Stewart a lot. He seems to really give a crap about corruption, abuse, and lies. I believe he really cares about this country and wishes he had even more power to make it better.

I think rallies like this are awesome and I wish we had more here in LA, but too often we feel satisfied when we shouldn't be

  • ww w.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ3oDZItnps

  • Comment removed

  • So Colbert's running for President (of South Carolina, that is)? Too bad for him, I'm votin' for Jon!!!

  • John Stewart. Love from Britannia!

  • if we amplify everything we hear nothing

  • Get rid of FOX don't watch it

  • Makes more sense than anybody else

  • I wonder if O'Reilly and Beck were watching this that day. what was going through their minds listening to this. What were their conscious telling them?

  • Jon Stewart is the man

    Respect from Portugal!!!

  • @sergioplayerboy Espero que Ron Paul ganhe 2012!

  • Thumbs up if schmoyoho brought you here!

  • @jus1029ph fuck off

  • he´s no leader neither a commentator.he is a satirist..an amazing one.

I really like the idea that not everything is partisan and we dont have to be afraid of everything.

´´ These are hard Times not end Times'', that line really stuck into my head.

The Satirists have always been very intelligent and charismatic people because they have the freedom of not taking responsibility so we can understand and reflect things we were not aware of.

  • @jifwugi1990 btw sorry for my rather bad english.Im still learning

  • 17 dislikes.. the rare insane and the scorned.

  • He would be a kick ass president

  • Thats a pretty great speech I hope Jon finds the ambition to lead this country.

  • Let's see scientific counting :

    Rally to restore honour : 87 000

    Rally to restore sanity and/or fear : 215 000

    Problem Glenn Beck ?

  • @MenwithHill Oh, Glenn is mad. Definitely mad.

  • I traveled all night so I could arrive to try and get a view of the stage, never happened. But the experience was amazing, and then I got to watch the whole thing over again on C-SPAN.

  • Jon Stewart for president.

  • @Waluiginumberone got my vote

  • @Waluiginumberone I agree, but he specifically doesnt. He always tells us he does NOT want a spot in politics cuz he is a comedian. But I love him

  • @Gaming4newbs I know. It was a misspelling. Relax.

  • I was not able to hear or see any of this rally, even though I was there. We were so far back the rearmost speakers did not reach. I'm not bitter about it at all, though. I'm just happy that it happened and that I live in a country where people of all beliefs from all walks of life can gather peacefully and have a good time with a solid message. I'm also glad I live in the age of cameraphones and YouTube so I can watch it now.

  • Can't believe this has so few views

  • This man had Warren Zevon on his MTV show during the mid 90s, therefore he earned my trust LONG ago....

  • tone down , not sown

  • "When everything gets amplified, Nobody hears it." We need to tone sown and open our earlids.

  • To be honest, this is a revelation only for Jon Stewart.

This is because his job is to spend the whole day watching cable TV news networks to find comedy gold.

I applaud him for calling out the problems he sees in the world, and there is no mistaking the fact that he is genuine.

  • "Sometimes the light at the end of he tunnel isn't the promised land.

It's just New Jersey". God bless you Jon Stewart.

  • what does it say about America that people listen raptly to comedians like they know anything?

  • @pretorious700 -- What does it say about you that you dismiss a person's words just because he's a comedian?

  • @pretorious700

    . . . *shakes head*

  • @pretorious700 You tell me, guy who listens raptly to some Asian guy from 500 years ago.

  • I'm not British and I don't have a TV.

  • I'm British too, and I'm so glad that people like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert exist, because they are genuinely brilliant. God bless them.

  • John Stewart is truly a great American, glad people as smart as him are still around.

  • Jon Stewart for president

  • Please campaign for better education in the united states. I'm sick of being misconstrued as an Englishman, I'm sick of having to explain to someone that has gone their whole lives through school that Europe is a continent, not a country. It's disgusting, fix the damn education system!

  • @nawheadies Personally, I don't believe it's the educational system that's at fault more than it's bad parenting, or lack of parental concern. It's true that public school funding isn't distributed equally, thus leaving poorer communities at a disadvantage, but societal priorities are skewed badly. Television, video games, and a lack of ambition or discipline is the U.S.'s major blunder. Our society has become (or so it seems) a bunch of mindless consumers that lacks in educational priority.

  • @nawheadies TheTaxTN is completely right. It is perfectly possible for anyone in this country to get a top-notch education. The problem is that a lot of people don't take the opportunities that they get. In fact, they seem to go out of their way to avoid being educated. It isn't cool, or, apparently, worth the effort for kids or parents. The system that is most broken is our culture.

  • He talks sense!

  • I drove all the way from Toronto, Canada to be there.

It was awesome, I feel so lucky to have heard this live.

  • One of the best speeches I've heard in a long time.

  • it doesn't have that much hits because i think it's copyrighted. if it gets too much attention, viacom will be a bitch and this video will be deleted.

  • Who would've thought that a year later, America proves how united they really are.

  • Sixteen people are afraid to admit American integrity and would rather dictate than support freedom.

  • In short: "Don't panic!"

  • Jon's brother Larry Leibowitz is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the New York Stock Exchange.

  • @westwind85 So?

  • These two men are the last true journalists in America today.

  • 2:17 test

  • whens john just going to give in and run for president

  • Even near a year later, this still rings so true...

  • I'm sorry but 16 of the viewers are clearly NOT human.

  • this is a really good speech

  • Jon Stewart: America's Voice of Reason. It will be a sad day when he retires.

  • He is one of the best and smartest, and most beneficial people to the American people

  • I think it was more like 300,000 - 350,000 people, not including the people who gave up waiting in the endless lines at the train stations

  • BTW,last month US demanded we (Slovenia) accept some Guantanamo Bay detainees and they threteaned us saying that if we do not,we will be coresponsable for their well-being ...WTF! As if it's our fault

  • Amen Jon...and I'm not even religious. This is what makes me like Americans even if your government is governed/owned by corporate douchebags

  • HES THE MOST IMPORTANT JEW!!!!!

  • @Cermak2795 No, the most important Jew is Mel Brooks.

  • @pseudogenesis

Amen........ The Schwartz baby, the Schwartz. Space Balls!

  • @ryanjofre I knew it, I'm surrounded by assholes!

  • @Cermak2795 What about Toby Zeigler?

  • im british and god bless jon stewart

  • John, you have been the biggest inspiration in my life. You are the smartest man I know, your beliefs are so clear, and right and true and America needs you more than ever. You are one to be admired. You are a true leader. Thank you.

  • @stanzipotenza So true.

  • @stanzipotenza His name is Jon.

  • @stanzipotenza Unfortunately I can only like that once.

  • @gaussmanv2 Haha thanks. (:

  • America Needs a third Party for the 2012 elections ........... you'll have the republitards (ultra religious creationists, zealots, racist, ignorant tea-party motherfuckers) .... you got Obama (democrat with absolutely NO balls) ........... and you NEED JON STEWART, with the SANE PEOPLE'S PARTY!

  • @diegovercesi uhhh.. you may have missed the point

  • @diegovercesi He's got my vote, when do we start fundraising??

  • WOW. INCREDIBLE. THIS GUY MIGHT ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO SORT OUT SOME BIG PROBLEMS.

    FUNNY-CLEVER-LIKEABLE: HE'S JUST GOT IT

  • America’s economy is in free-fall.

Growth is anemic. The stock market is collapsing. Real unemployment - combining the high jobless rate with rampant underemployment - is higher than 16 percent. Manufacturing is dead. Deficits, debt and government spending are at record levels. Our credit rating has been downgraded for the first time in history. The trade deficit has exploded to the highest in years. A possible Great Depression haunts the land. Primarily one man is to blame:

    President Obama.

  • @paulstrong123 You can't just blame one man, even though he supposedly has the power to change America's current economic state. In the end no matter how much we don't like it, we're all to blame. The system needs to be restored, it's a difficult task to take on by oneself when there's much opposition for change. To paraphrase Lincoln, how can a house divided against itself stand? It can't.

And if you're so worried about a Depression, I think our previous generations showed us how to survive...

  • @paulstrong123

#1 Many of your assertions are hyperbole at best and blatantly false at worst. Manufacturing is alive and increasing. Government spending is NOT at record levels proportionately to taxation. The trade deficit has steadily increased, yes. NOT exploded. The stock market is UP for the year at this point.

#2 The overall conditions you describe existed or were set in place BEFORE Obama was elected. There was a budget surplus going into our previous presidents 8 years in office.

  • Jon Stewart is a great comedian but that speech is yet another lie told to make the American public feel better about the fall of America.

  • Stupid, pointless. and poorly written.

  • @MIvarsson99 If you can write something that is more relevant and well written, please speak up and post a video. If you sir are a writer of such eloquence and skill please I want to hear what you have to say. My first impression was that you are simply trolling but then I read the depth and body to your analysis of this speech and thought it couldn't be true. And there is no way you could be just a malcontent that chooses to look at the words of others and hate them because it wasn't you.

  • @nemisissy I am indeed a writer of great eloquence and skill. I am not interested in sharing my writing with you because I believe you to be a stupid, worthless, nigger who is unworthy of my time and efforts.

    Good Day.

  • @MIvarsson99 No sir I am not asking you to share with me per se, but with the population in general. As we are in sore need of men such as yourself, and I am tending to agree with your assertion based off of your responses. As a student at a university and taking philosophy I would like to listen to your unique and well reasoned perspective. Although you may think yourself too good to converse with a student with a European Heritage and is soon serving in our military, in that case I understand.

  • @nemisissy Honestly, I can no longer tell if you are being sarcastic. Your first message seemed unmistakably sarcastic.

In any event, the only person on this board whom I feel that I am "to good to" respond to is Jon Stewart himself. As a comedian, he does just fine but his serious dialogue is bland and unimaginative. Basically, he regurgitated Barack Obama's "one america" speech from the 2004 DNC. Nothing original is happening in this video at all.

  • @nemisissy And what's the deal with mentioning that you're of European Heritage??

Are you suggesting that I'm racist?

  • @MIvarsson99 racist? oh no sir I just wanted to clear that issue up, as you referred to me as a stupid, worthless, nigger. the title wouldn't even be relevant to myself. And never would I insinuate such a thing unless I had known for certain. B,ut to also clear up the matter of my sarchasm, since it is difficult over text I am as sincere as you are perceptive take that as you will Nevertheless you are entitle to your beliefs and opinions, and your right is to express them, and I do respect that.

  • @nemisissy Any fool can be a nigger. The fool does not have to be black.

I think you're doing a bad satire act and failing miserably at your misapplication of the Socratic method.

    Take that as you will.

  • @MIvarsson99 You seem like a retard.

    Take that as you will.

  • @Whatevercatty You proved nothing. Your sarcasm failed. You are a faggot. And your life is lonely.

  • @MIvarsson99 Your comments and opinions as a skillful writer < hobo's nut sack

  • @Killerjosh89 Are you faggot moron #2??

  • @MIvarsson99 yep lmao

  • @MIvarsson99

    Black people are niggers. Period.

  • @tilxGH I will call you nigger whenever I fucking feel like it.

  • @tilxGH :S what?

  • @NamezJamez007

    im kidding jesus fucking christ

  • @MIvarsson99 the video? ,,, if you really believe jon stewart is stupid , pointless , and writes dirt then you are listening through your own filter ... he's saying media has an obligation to tell it's people the real worries of the world ... and that station like FOX who show "fox NEWS" deceives people by purposely putting "NEWS" when it's "OPINION" ... or saying "BREAKING NEWS" and then saying something dumb about how a democrat did something wrong ,,, is just plain pointless

  • Thank u John

  • I like the autotune version of the speech better

  • That was an absolutely beautiful, flawless, hilarious, truthful speech. I've never felt better about this country. . . . hell, during the entire car speech, the people passing by sounded like my neighbors, teachers, family, and close friends. Tip of the hat to you, Jon Stewart.

  • I plan on visiting D.C. on the anniversary of the rally.

  • -.-

  • Jon Stewart is one of the only jews who criticize Israel and USA's foreign policy towards Israel, I like him :)

  • jon stewart was/is an outside job.

  • Have you ever had a moment of sincerity....... on WEEEEEEEED?????

  • Stewart is a lying conman.

  • @cutwagman=TEABAGGER

  • @CodyRhodessafag2 .Teabagger.. and proud of it. Have a good day.

  • @cutwagman ewww....you should seriously google that phrase cuz i don't think you know what it really means. In fact, don't look it up, just keep calling yourself a teabagger...lol XDDD

  • @iFlute4life Teabaggers taught the government economic realty. I'm a teabagger and proud of it, Have a good day.

  • @cutwagman HAHAHA!!!XDDDDD lol ok seriously you DO realize that the REAL meaning of teabagger is someone who sucks on a guys ball sack, right? I just thought you should know cuz you keep repeating how proud you are of it, it sounds like you are proud of sucking on guys balls....

  • @iFlute4life That was the old meaning, We earned a new meaning .. we own it. Proud to be a teabagger. Have a good day.

  • @cutwagman Yah...the word gay has two meanings too, but that doesn't mean that a straight man should go around saying he's gay and expect people to think he means happy. You might say you are a "teabagger" to mean part of the tea party or something, but that doesn't mean that people aren't gonna think you suck balls. If you wanna be more clear i'd just call yourself a "tea partier" so people don't get the wrong idea.

  • @iFlute4life This is the most funniest, most true, flawless statement I have heard in a while. Im making it my status on facebook.

  • lol i was there and i took a car there from Central New Jersey the day before, slept in a parking garage and then went dressed as Kitler...good times

  • This man gives me hope

  • if only we had more congressmen like Stewart..with the mindset that he displays..

  • Love him or hate him, the last person who will ever think Jon Stewart is an influential political thinker and an important mind of our time, is Jon Stewart

  • @KroninKarr which is ironically what makes him so influential. Sure there are some political aspects that I disagree with him on, yet I think he is a great American and probably the most sincere of all political pundits on TV (even though I know he is a comedian)

  • @KroninKarr what?

  • @CruxisFire Explain.

  • @CruxisFire Stewart is a brilliant comedian.

  • 0:43...cameraman brainfart. haha =P

  • Truly amazing. =) He puts so much hope into the hearts of Americans. He truly is an inspiration. We love you Jon! =)

  • be affraid of religion...like it or not it will come knocking on your door.

peace...such an oxymoron when it comes to religion.

  • There should really be another rally this year...

  • We're not living in the end times? I beg to differ....

  • 14 people don't believe in this country O_O

  • I can see myself!

  • Another white Liberal lynch mob

  • @TheDEMSUCK How?

  • @TheDEMSUCK

    He is Jewish.

  • When Jon gets serious, you can really see what an intelligent, compassionate, and yes, utterly sane man he is. I think it is a real shame that this video doesn't have more hits.

  • @TheWanderingPrimate There was another version up that had 5 million views, but someone took it down

  • I want this speech in my children's history books.

  • man this guy is skilled in the art of oratory

  • I love the sentiment and agree with everything. I would only add that the unity and co-operation he is talking about are liberal characteristics. I genuinely dont think the left and right are equivalant.

  • In Jon's comedy

There is no need for all the facts in his jokes.

He leaves out certain facts at his own choosing adding a certain obsurdity making it funny.

His audience gets their news from him along with half the facts.

  • @cutwagman Give me one example of when Jon left out certain facts. Important facts. If he does anything, he points out other people leaving facts out of their statements. He is an honest man.

  • @wolfgirl3440 Pretty much everything. You are an example of his audience and how misinformed you are because of Jon Stewart. You trust him as what? He changes everything ny leaving out the last half of the facts.

YouTube search this video and go to minute mark 9:10

You believe what you want even if it is half the facts that make people you hate seem rediculous.

Jon Stewart vs. Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday - Aired 6/19/2011

  • @cutwagman Surely you have one example or two, right?

  • @cutwagman If you listen to what Jon says, he says he doesn't tell the full story, but he doesn't not tell the full story based on a partisan agenda. The Daily Show is not a 24-hour news show. He can't tell all of a story because he doesn't have time. That clip said nothing about him leaving out important facts. He gives us important facts that we need to know.

  • I always wanted to say this: STEWART FOR PRESIDENT!

  • @TheHambone12

    I CONCUR. :D

  • He's too intelligent to put up with politics as the way they are

  • As an Englishman and a Muslim Jon Stewart reminds me that a lot of Americans are alright. :)

  • did he say marxists at 06:54? whats wrong with marxists

  • @printalp It may seem great on paper, but historically we can see that it hasn't worked out to well. Also it's. seen counter to American Democracy.

  • @printalp Americans are scared of them

  • This guy for President.

  • And the ad on the side of the video?

"High Gas Prices - Blame Obama? Vote here now"

    God bless the USA :P

  • Epic win.

  • I would really like to see Jon Stewart at the 2012 Presidential Debate Moderator

  • WOOT!

  • Stewart and Colbert: The story of how two Comedians went from being Political Satirists to becoming the voices of a Nation...

  • In the end there is only darkness.

  • Sara Palin disliked this video 12 times.
