i remember watching these guys when i was 13 sneaking into UBI OTJ on Sunrise highway in west islip- still have a few rubber rats-back then- the harmonies and harmony guitar rifs were someof the finest from ANY band-

actually the BEST was OBI EAST when the sued the owners for breach of contract I think and played in the kitchen-- anyone remember this?

The only member from that group is Peppi, the singer, the others are his children except the drummer. They can still rock out.

I disagree, they play the old Rats tunes great and I'm an original fan from the 70's who seen them plenty of times back then. They also do an ocassional show with original guitarist John "the cat" Gatto and have at least one reunion show a year. Also Peppi wrote all the music so why shouldnt he deem himself and his kids "The Good Rats"??

As somebody who was totally a fanatic for the classic Peppi-Mickey-John Gatto-Joe Franco-Lenny Kotke band it saddens me to see Peppi and his sons going around presenting themselves as the Good Rats. Not that I hate what they do but they should bill themselves as a different band name and not play any of the old Rats stuff.
