@GMSamuelRhine Sometimes, but not this time. I was on the MTB, because the recumbent doesn't have low enough gearing to make it up that hill towing such a heavy load.
Wow! I was expecting the usual from a HGV driver and assumed all of these were sarcastic comments. I was surprised the driver actually was being courteous and waited like you said.
@joevictor53 Actually I'e never had a problem wit HGV drivers, they're usually really good around bikes. The majority of white van drivers on the other hand can go fuck themselves.
But be wary of skip lorries, local construction contractors, and the light local delivery trucks. Karma has decided a fate for them - reincarnation as a 1970's Skoda convertible.
HGV drivers are definitely some of the best on the road. I remember where I used to live there was a really bad road for crossing as a pedestrian, the cars would be nose to tail and it was pretty much just a case of waiting for the first lorry to come along which would always let you cross.
@CyclingMikey Really nice of you to do so, a person's entire job can depend on comments recieved and evidence (vids etc). I like to think my drivers are good guys (and a gal) but then again running plain white trucks with no info has its drawbacks.
Spectacular. You should contact the company and give the licence plate of the truck and the time this was. Perhaps you'll get the driver a nice reward. :]
@CyclingMikey You should drink more beer, it's far healthier than soda. (Google it... homebrewed beer, and non-pasteurized beer, is very healthy compared to pretty much everything else you could imbibe)
@adrenalinjunky31 Absolutely - I'm gonna call them shortly, I'm just waiting for the keywords to be added to the search index so they can find it easily.
do you tow trailers with your bent?

All it took him was 30seconds waiting. It's funny how some drivers can't wait that long behind a cyclist but can wait for HOURS in traffic jams.

Head?.... Head?
You should try pedalling with your legs... I find they're better for the job!! Heh heh!! ;^D
Seriously though.... excellent driving!
I always acknowledge driving like this with a friendly wave of thanks.... it's usually returned pleasing on both sides.
If only all drivers were this nice! :)

Bloody good driving - just what you'd expect from a highly professional driver. Good on him and his company.
Aye, and it's nice to see the drivers following him (in the last few seconds) - he sets an example, and they follow. :D

@busog97641 LOL! Nah, just soft drinks. I don't drink very much alcohol at all, but I am a bit of a caffeine addict.

@u4987 I could do with a Yorkie myself after climbing that hill with 50kg of shopping in the trailer. :)
