I thought the creators of the anime were trying to make a new type of character. Unfortunately, his characteristics are neither praiseworthy nor admirable.
I'm currently watching this anime and its pretty EPIC! We do understand that being on 3rd is bad for mech anime to be but at least it was good and they tried their best to make it the best.
