I agree they've always sounded better than the Chipmunks, but the annoying thing about the old time Chipettes, was that they all sounded exactly the same when singing. In fact, if you don't watch the movie (just listen to the album) you can pick your favorite Chipette, and say the whole song was sung by her. Since Ellie is my favorite, I just credit the song to her. Although I have to say, that modern day Brit is my favorite when it comes to singing.
