Doesn't anyone know how to sing in verse anymore these days? Sorry folks but I grew up listening to the folk music from the 60's and 70's. I think I'd rather stick to that era. Those are still the days. Peace and Love really meant something not how people give the backhanded peace sign simply for status. LSD and Marijuana were the best method to chill, kickback, and enjoy the music and nature or as it was called "the scene". Peace, and I really meant it.

I think the significance of the puppets is pretty clear. Anyone who grew up watching 'Sesame Street' will recognize the style of these puppets as Jim Henson's Muppets, the kind that were used on that show. The song talks about remembering a day when everything was done for you and things were simple, presumably when you were a child. That's the reason for the puppets.
When people say that the Weepies should be more famous I agree, but at the same time I don't want it because then their songs will get over-played on TV and would lose their magic. This is real music, this is beautiful, not the stupid songs that get millions of views on Youtube and don't even deserve half of those views. The Weepies sing meaningful songs... I love them! <3

Hence, the puppets that need another person to make them work. The puppets don't make a 'joke' out of it, they make it a metaphor.
