Yo pantera55j, I think you've got it wrong. Nerf Herder has been around for quite a while and has been producing for a small loyal fanbase, unlike fallout boy etc. These guys have been putting out that fun sound consistently since Fat Music for Fat People.

One think I like about bands like Weezer and Nerf Herder is that though they themselves were metal/punk/new-wave fans in their youth, their own sound is very different. Its nice, just enjoy it, ass!

To me it's like they're almost making fun of the culture of metal. I mean ya it's funny, but it seems some what contradictive. In the song they talk about how much they love metal, but also they kinda make fun of Slayer, Ozzy, and Pantera. Then they also contradict themselves about punk, because this is somewhat of new wave punk pop, and definetley a Ramones influence. I think in reality they're making fun of Pantera.
