Evangel is just doing what his name implies: he is giving the "good news" to the people. I don't personally know him, but I can say with certainty that he has probably listened to Ra since he first came on the scene and didn't just stumble upon the song.
He is also not dissing--he's just correcting while at the same time presenting it in such a way that he shows that God has given him an ability to put words together unlike many ever have before.

I understand where your coming from, but I will explain to you why evangel is wrong and anyone who say rakim song is blasphemy. Personally I believe is trying to get an Internet buzz. Again if you have ever listened to Rakim within his 24 year career, he does not deny god. All he is saying is that the body is mortal, but the mind is omnipresent, omniscience & omnipotent like the creator. Can we create the sun, moon & earth like god no, but our mind have the ability to on a smaller scale.

Whats good fam. I know Evangel...he is not trying to get any buzz. He is just contending for the Faith. As far as Rakim trying to reach the lost...what is trying to reach them with. If I say I am feeding the hungry, but I give them poison how am I helping them. You have to do more than try to reach the lost. You have to reach them with the truth. Jesus is the Truth. I think you misinterpretted the lyrics of Rakim's track. I really don't believe he is saying he is God. I understand there are references in his lyrics that lead one to believe he is insinuating that there may be other "answers" but I don't think he is claiming he is "The Creator" I think his GOD MC is reference to Hip-Hop Awesomeness...

Rakim is not only considered one of the greatest hip/hop artist of all time, the brother is the most respected and humbled brother you can ever meet. He's speaking to a generation who is lost and to be honest don't know themselves not alone Jesus. You go in the inner cities and talk about Jesus and these kids will laugh in your face and run you Back to church trust me. Half of the kids don't know there parents so how could you tell them about Jesus? Respect Ra for trying to reach the lost.

God declared it. Your problem isn't with people like Evangel calling out sinners to repentance but with your natural sinful self denying the authority of God Almighty.
This song is out of love--trying to point those who are lost to the truth so that they will not goto hell. Can you not hear the love even in his voice? He breaks it down with facts and lyrics so that anyone can understand that there is but one God.

Is it disrespectful to call a sinner a sinner when you believe what he has done/is doing is sinful? Let me ask it like this, is it alright for you to call someone who kills a murderer? In their country "honor killings" may at times be legal. In our country an "honor killing" is called motive for murder. Yes, different world views play a part in titles and tags. However, minus the semantics of it all, calling sin what it is should not be viewed as disrespectful just as calling a crime a crime.

I love the irony. I think you need to put your bible down until you can understand it. In the ancient world the word "god" had a double meaning that meant judge. When the bible calls human's "gods" it means that Christians have the right to judge right from wrong.
