Maybe the question is "what do we lose"? Then ask "what do the Iraqi's lose"? It seems unfathomable that Democrats think if we leave everything magically gets fixed there. Instead it will turn to hell. Iran, Syria, Saudia Arabia, Turkey will all be involved in a bloody regional civil war in Iraq. That's what happens if the US leaves before Iraq Reconstruction is complete.

I don't think there is a "magical fix" to Iraq, but I will never forgive or forget those who magically f'd it up to begin with. The Neocons had zero foresight (ideology was enough for them) and now they have no credibility whatsoever in foreign affairs. It will take many years and many intelligent people from both parties to "fix" the worst foreign policy blunder in our nation's history.

I used to think that too. And it was very difficult for me to allow myself to admit that there really were people doing bad things to this nation. It's too scary, and too "crazy" -- am I sane? am I paranoid?
I even went to a clinical psychologist and had tests done. Turns out, I'm sane, rational, and even now, I still don't fully want to believe this.
