i very much doubt the third reich could of invaded the UK. The US had to come into WW2 everyone should thank the Russians they paid the blood price for the defeat of the Third reich. The Vietnam war was fought to combat the perceived threat of communism. Its failure resulted in the mistrust of the US government and its citizens. It got way out of control. sacrifice. I still think the US has not learnt the true lessons of Vietnam.

Rommel was a great strategic, but didn't Montgomery take him (well it is kind off bull, Monty was forwarned and concentrated on anti-tank and Rommel did a smart retreat so I would never say Monty's better)? Rommel was a soldier, answering the call of duty, later took part in the 20th July Plot, and never believed in all that Nazi shit. Here in Brazil as in Russia we are allowed to have our companies, but when they grow too much State try to control them, often by changing laws so they can put their puppet in control or make the company brake, and then one of the State's friends(politicians, media owners)

But, compare with 50.000 (FIFTY FUCKING THOUSANDS) of PPL who get killed every year just by HOMOCIDE and + others 60.000 who die in the bad roads built by State. It's NOTHING. You don't know anything about the torture in Abu Ghraib do you? The shit that went on in there. Playing someone as a horse? Apart from those few photos where they only wanted to humiliate them, there were tons of photos of people that had been killed by electric chocks and many photos had them in stresspositions which is a known CIA-torture technique that take much longer time to extract pain on it's victim then just cutting out their insides.

Americans aren't angels, but u can't argue with facts. Look closer at history and see how many war crimes others killed, and how many POWs they get. Americans were never good, but they gave a try. And they never killed they own ppl under one's leaderance, at least I never seen US State ordering to kill americans like soviets and chineses do.

True, and being British I am grateful for that fact but it's not like the gesture was altruistic given Germany's world threat, and what it's dominance in Europe would have meant for the US.
It's a shame that there seems to be a lot of animosity between both countries outside of Government, given our shared history and cooperation. The ill advised Iraq war being a more recent example, an involvement which has done Britain little favour in the EU and in the eyes of the East.

The problem is that USA is way too big and powerful, as are Russia, China, India and many others. Smaller countries are less eager to wage wars against other. Inner conflicts are other thing, those happen from time to time all around.
If all the giants would be divided to smaller nations, the balance would make things more peaceful. I'm not saying it would totally eliminate wars, since humans are naturally violent, but I think (and wish) there wouldn't be so many conflicts.
