Hello guys/girls, in this video eventhought EVO has a race time lees than the Suby (14.161) Suby won the race, let me explain you a little bit, on every drag race track are several sensors on the track (thats not new), how you can tell that the Suby won the race... well if you check the second 27 you'll notice, left lane display turns on time/speed first (Subaru lane), in drag races is not all about the time, when a heads up race is going is about who is the one that cross first the 1/4 line
(Heads up race: both green lights blinks at the same time), and for those that think that EVO is faster, well actually he is faster with a top speed of 99.86 it is faster and eventually catch the Suby (95.91) on the 1/4 mile line but in this specific case, Suby beat the EVO due to passed first the finish line (1/4 mile) (thats why Suby display turns on first), Suby front tires activated the track sensors first than EVO's.

Doesn't matter if the block is open deck unless you're at 550whp+. Switch out the internals to STi units & you're beyond 300whp with ease. 25D blocks can take a hell of a thrashing. You'll have to worry about a disintegrated piston way sooner than a cracked cylinder wall. You're correct about the 257s. They're semi-closed decks.
The times were weak because of weak launches. The trap speeds could easily be for a 13-flat car if driven hard. My old 1g Dsm awd did 13.2 at 98mph with 1.4 60ft's on all seasons spinning out of the hole at Norwalk raceway in ohio.

Why hate on one or the other? I love Subaru but I also respect Mitsubishi because both cars are amazing automobiles and I would drive either of them, I just don't see a point in bashing either car because they are both fast and either car is gonna get you were you need to go. wrx's= rex, only impreza model to be recognized as rex, sti, is a 2.5l so it has more low end grunt/ torque and a quicker spool as opposed to a 2.0l with the same size turbo and the evo is a lighter car with around same power. The sti can take it off the line but the evo will have more top end torque and beat it in the end. In the video it was a 2.5rs with a turbo, unless it was a built engine that motor will top out at around 265 hp @ 6 psi or somethin around there before it will blow or fail.
Subaru is definitely a more reliable car and doesn't have nearly as much maintenance and is cheaper if I recall. Evo is definitely a sicker looking car though, but I wouldn't take my evo into the snow either... I guess I would take a fast practical car over a faster not practical car...

You Cant technically compare both cars, they are both equally good, just in different ways. It boils down to what your preference is, do you prefer speed of handling, or handling over speed. Evo's run handling over sti's any day, but sti's run more horsepower and speed over evo's any day. all these guys talking shit about each car are mental cases. its all based on personal opinion, and seeing as how most of these people don't have these cars they technically cant speak.
@GXkyukyumarumaru And i would be won of the lucky ones to own an Impreza 2.5rs. but i loved the evo's first but subarus are in my opinion equally amazing. as for handling i would say it boils down to the driver, and his or her experience with the car. because subarus are definitely no slouch in the corners but the current evo is much sharper than the subaru. that much i will concede.
there is also a fun factor and many other things to keep in mind with both cars as well. comfort, econ, etc

Stock V Stock the cars are nearly identical on power and performance ..the handling is debatable..i think you're confusing handling with Grip..the Impreza understeers a lot more than the EVO...but it rides bumps better and has better steering feel so on a bumpy back road gives you more confidence..Impreza's are built better IMO but EVO's are easier to tune.
Technically you can compare the cars the are about as close as any rivals in the car market get...

Why hate on one or the other? I love Subaru but I also respect Mitsubishi because both cars are amazing automobiles and I would drive either of them, I just don't see a point in bashing either car because they are both fast and either car is gonna get you were you need to go. Im just saying maybe give the other a chance you know.

wrx's= rex, only impreza model to be recognized as rex, sti, is a 2.5l so it has more low end grunt/ torque and a quicker spool as opposed to a 2.0l with the same size turbo and the evo is a lighter car with around same power. The sti can take it off the line but the evo will have more top end torque and beat it in the end. In the video it was a 2.5rs with a turbo, unless it was a built engine that motor will top out at around 265 hp @ 6 psi or somethin around there before it will blow or fail.

Subaru is definitely a more reliable car and doesn't have nearly as much maintenance and is cheaper if I recall. Evo is definitely a sicker looking car though, but I wouldn't take my evo into the snow either... I guess I would take a fast practical car over a faster not practical car...

You Cant technically compare both cars, they are both equally good, just in different ways. It boils down to what your preference is, do you prefer speed of handling, or handling over speed. Evo's run handling over sti's any day, but sti's run more horsepower and speed over evo's any day. all these guys talking shit about each car are mental cases. its all based on personal opinion, and seeing as how most of these people don't have these cars they technically cant speak.

@GXkyukyumarumaru And i would be won of the lucky ones to own an Impreza 2.5rs. but i loved the evo's first but subarus are in my opinion equally amazing. as for handling i would say it boils down to the driver, and his or her experience with the car. because subarus are definitely no slouch in the corners but the current evo is much sharper than the subaru. that much i will concede.
there is also a fun factor and many other things to keep in mind with both cars as well. comfort, econ, etc

@nvtuning Agree, the evo relies more on its turbo to give you a kick in the ass, the subie has got more grunt to it, usually what sets the cars apart is the gearing so Im suprised the Impreza had so much distance. Then again, I shouldnt go assuming people are racing stock v stock

Stock V Stock the cars are nearly identical on power and performance ..the handling is debatable..i think you're confusing handling with Grip..the Impreza understeers a lot more than the EVO...but it rides bumps better and has better steering feel so on a bumpy back road gives you more confidence..Impreza's are built better IMO but EVO's are easier to tune.
Technically you can compare the cars the are about as close as any rivals in the car market get...
