Its IMPOSSIBLE to defeat RX-78-2, I had to use three teams to destroy it. I used 2 teams to distract it and the weak point was on the BACK,Was there another to defeat it? pls REPLY:)

I dont think a heat hawk should be able to take down a gundam in one blow. It is "The Gundam" after all. I do like how easy MS are to take down in this game. Its much more realistic than Crossfire or Journey to Jaburo. I wish your dodging capabilities were a little improved, maybe some short boost to the right and left.

@vhhsairsoft That's seriously the best part about this game, though, and the thing that sets it apart from other Gundam games - and most mech games, really. Combat in ZF is mostly decided by planning and how you approach the fight. It takes intelligence and thought, as opposed to more fast-paced, less realistic* action like in Zone of the Enders or somesuch.

*insofar as any giant robot combat is realistic, of course.

This game could easily pass for a Gundam UCGO console version. I have this game and graphically and feel wise, it shares similiarities to UCGO. Too bad this game doesent have multiplayer though, it would kick ass.

actually the original zaku was an MS-05B but although the zaku type 2 which was the MS-06B was kinda pretty kool

@hypergap NOT SHAMEFUL! Do it on all the Gundam video games, Gundams are over rated true glory comes from defeating Gundams with inferior mecha. Kind of like using a Hawk Training Aircraft on Ace Combat 5 while fighting F-22 Rapters, great challange, winning makes it even greater of a victory.

That was MS-05 Zaku 1 the guy was using not the MS-06 Zaku 2.

There are many ways of killing the gundam in this game but the key is to make sure YOU see him first and strike first! NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

He didn't use any cheats from what I saw, unless you are talking about the sheild, that's just something you can earn by completing the first simulation mission with Austin after beating the game once thru

Gosh !! I can be wrong but the ZAKU is wielding a EF shield.

What kind of game is that ? I mean, the mobile suits are really slow and bulky.

It doesn't respect the anime either.

It is using a Fed shield but that is cause you can unlock it later in the game. The MS are slow in the show. Early UC ones anyway not the newer ones. Zaku II's top speed is 88kph which is about 55mph. So the speed of the MS is kinda like how the stats have htem listed. Although they are still messed up in the game. The F-type Zaku II and the GM are both slower than the B-type Zaku I in this game.

it's top running speed actually, the only game that gets as close to the show is Ace Pilot for GC

Yeah I should have said that was the running speed. As for Ace Pilot it is the one that is most like the stats at MAHQ then what we see in the show. As in the GMs are actually better than most Zakus compared to in the show where they aren't shown that good. It is the best Gundam game I ever played though and my second favortie.

If you want a game that really follows the anime/movie try One Year War. Soundtracks, anime events, everything down to the smallest detail, even Kai Shiden returning to the White Base in that motorbike and Miharu falling into the sea. Hell, even M'Quve's vase is done in 3D. I say it's the most faithful (to the anime) PS2 Gundam game to date.

Just too bad it follows the anime too closely, all you can play are the anime missions (including missions that involve control of the ship's cannons and a gunfight within the White Base).

This game, however, is for some hardcore Universal-Century-style wargaming ... and as far as it goes, it is pretty decent for a wargame.

the only complain i have about one year war is its only aviable in japan.
