All I've noticed about Squads is if you join as a party you tend to be put in a Squad which then shows your Squad Mates as blue on the map, begin leader just allows you to push up on the D-Pad and set a point on the map which shows up for the whole Squad.
Once your in game you can push start though a Create/Join a Squad :)
Also yeah not so many nades begin spammed :) Even less random grenades killing you :)

A couple things:
-It said you were the leader of Able squad at the beginning...what's that about, and how do squads work?
-Looks like recon spam is just as apparent as UAV spam.
-It does seem that nadespam is greatly reduced though, which does make me happy :p
