Aside from the awesomeness of the WC plow, isn't IC 6071 the very first SD40 ever built? Built as demonstrator EMDX 434? Correct me if I'm wrong... Given that you are into EMDs I'll trust what you say:-)

This loco is a rarity (or soon to be, at least). I think the IC received the first batch of SD40's produced in the mid 60's
