the visualization has no impack on de CPU speed, because the CPU wait more for decoded processing from the coprocessor. larger kbps gives more floating point time wiche cause the sound lagg.
I've also tryed other FPU's like Intel, IIT, Cyrix fast Math. and model type like 80387 4C87DLC
DLC's for cyrix early 486's was the fastes. Intel was at that time slow
It's also explain the pentium 60 Mhz vs 80486DX4 133Mhz. and if you know Quake I ,pentium's FPU beats 486 FPU runs much better
if you turn off all visualization effects could you maybe play a higher quality file. What is the highest quality mp3 you can play on this w/o issues?
OK, seriously, it was ess you bee. The first three letters of submarine. What?!
So if I was describing a sandwich made out of a baguette, or using that prefix for any other situation, or talking colloquially about marine vessels that travel below the surface, I'd get filtered out?
Rewriting the missing part ("2b", I guess):

Right, deleting a word at a time. It's not mp3, or HQ, so ... what is it? Am I going to have to actually start at the end and work backwards, slowly deleting stuff, until it works?
...slowly, that way, and play them back with little CPU use (in playlists of 4 or 5, from your chock-a-block 340mb HDD)... or because detecting the chip was too difficult, somehow.
...so if that posts, it was something in part 2 of what i wrote (as parts 1 and 3 will be alright)
Now, for your next trick can you demo the PC screecher and unofficial 6-bit-PCM-mode Adlib output from Inertia?
Nghh. "Error, try again". OK, now I have to figure out what word in my submission Youtube doesn't like. It's like the old Sinclair "Syntax Error in Line XYZ" thing again. Why can't they just highlight whatever it is that's caused offence?
Ah! Been trying to remember the names of CP and Intertia for ages. Used them (& MPG123) so much in the 486 & early P5 days, when the only windows players were the demo FHG mp3 player & MOD4Win... or using an audio CD... (does anyone still play CDs in their PCs I wonder?)
In return I'll offer this: it can probably handle at least 24kbit + 12, even 16khz if you turn all the viz off & drop to 80x25 textmode. I could just-about play 128k on my DX2/66 that way! At least, after tweaking RAM timings..
@mrfuck792 No nezapomen ze je to jenom 386...Na 486/DX4 100mhz se 192k mp3 prehraje krasne, ale vytizeni cpu je na ~80% a vzhledem k tomu ze 486DX4 je aspon o 200% rychlejsi jak 386, tak bych byl rad i za tohle... budu to muset nekdy zkusit sam ;)
do you really need the nic-driver or the mouse-driver - can it save you some 20kb ?
so, acctually its better to use a 387-copro non-intel ; and not a 486 because of the slow intel-copro inside?

Do it faster by defrag the HD!

can this run 128kbps ?

I'm frankly quite surprised MP3s will play on anything this old, though I suppose the co-processor explains it.
But... Gina G? Why? (That if anything brings back the memoies of the 90s I guess, admittedly...)

@thelyniezian The coprocessor is little more than just a floating-point unit, something that's been intergrated into CPUs since the 486! (about 1990)
