A touch of solder would be very effective at holding the trunk parts together. That is what I use. With solder there are no problems with fingers being stuck to the model!
I picked up some Bachmann trees the other month and was totally disappointed with them. Not only for the quality and uselessness, but also the chemical stench unleashed throughout my apt. upon opening the carton. Bad, bad stuff!
Of course, that would not work with the Woodlands Scenic one . . .

I agree with this guy you ware talking. This trees are hopless. Making scrath build trees is simpler and cheaper.
