Ik draai al bijna 3 jaar met midi en het is me tot nu toe altijd gelukt om een plekje te vinden voor de controller+laptop en alles aan te sluiten op bestaande systemen. Ik draai nu 1 of 2 keer in de week op allerlei feesten, dus het moet voor jou ook geen probleem zijn om met midi te gaan draaien.

@jcwilkes524 Yes it's a MacBook, and I must be honest to say that Torq doesn't run as smooth as I would like it to do. Now I'm using an Allen&Heath Xone:4D in combination with Traktor Pro and it's much more stable. Torq is a fairly young application, so Traktor is more developed and has less bugs.

I just used a MacBook iSight cam to record this ;) So the quality is so so. But the sound quality is what really matters :D You have to check out my latest vid, it's a lot better then this one. Good luck with your Xponent!

did you plug in your master out into your mac or is this all through the microphone? cuz ive tried recording my shit with the webcam and directly plugging in the audio source but imovie never lets me, i always have to do it through photobooth

You can record your audio seperately. You can do this by using the built in recording function in Torq or by plugging in your master/booth output into your line-in and using a program like 'Audacity'. In iMovie you can then silence the original audio of the video and paste the recorded audio under it. Just remember to sync it with your movie ;)

You could say it feels like the jogwheel on a pioneer cdj1000, not that stiff and not too loose. Ideal for mixing house for example, but not for scratching. The platter is too heavy for scratching. I don't scratch, so I love it :)

Hi,

The Xponent has a lot more buttons (backlit) and functions, so I think it´s worth the extra money. It´s really easy to use too. I also think torq is a really good program and you need a M-Audio device to control it. It is possible to use Traktor, because the Xponent sends out a standard midi signal. You can even download mappings for it :) I´ve looked at the Xone´s, but I don´t think they are the best devices for me. I hope this helped:)

Jup, it's a 2,2 GHz one. Torq runs really smooth on it :) Macbooks are really good for music applications.

I've actually got a 120 gig internal harddrive, but I've also got a 500 gig external one :) So plenty of space. If you want you can choose to fit a larger internal harddrive. I've got about 10 gigs of space left and I'm not using the external harddrive right now.

alot of my friends who mix use macs. but they use macbook pros since they have faster processors, more ram, more hard drive space.. right now im using a 13.3" hp pavilion- 2.2 GHz intel core 2 duo, 4GB ram, 500 GB hard drive, 3 USB ports.. its only around $650, and its thinner and weighs less than the macbook. so its good fer me =]

I've got a pioneer amplifier with 70's KEF cadenza speakers at my parents house, sounds really good :) At my student room I've got a logitech Z-2300 speaker set (400 Watt rms), but my next upgrade will be some better active speakers, maybe KRK's. Thanks :) I'm guessing you want to become a drive-in DJ? Or do you want speakers at your home? Choosing speakers is really a personal thing. You should do some internet research first to make a selection, then you should the speakers yourself at a store. You should also think about the Watts you need for the parties. It depends on the size ofcourse.

3. There are many other instances of him being a total arrogant asshole to people. He doesn't deserve what he has.

Dankje :) Je hebt inderdaad 3 standen voor de Xponent in Torq, maar dit is natuurlijk verschillend per programma wat je gebruikt. Je kunt in Torq kiezen tussen CDJ, Hybrid of Vinyl mode. Met Vinyl mode kun je scratchen (wat ik nooit gebruik) en in de andere 2 kun je alleen nudgen (kleine snelheidscorrecties doen). Even voor de duidelijkheid, de jogwheels draaien niet uit zichzelf.
