Does anybody familiar with Ft. Lauderdale diving know Sam Rich and how I could contact him? He used to operate Adventure Divers in the mid-1980s? I used to dive with him a lot. We did deep wrecks - Trio Bravo and the Mazon. I lost track of him over the years.

i go out in dania beach all the time i have lived my whole life in broward and someone told me about this reef said its about 200 kicks out and a little south of the commercial peir is this true???

It was filmed just outside of port everglades.

It is the same reef that you can access from Dania beach, near the pier. This actuall spot is about 100 yards out past the pier and a little ways north. I go there by boat. My friend hits it from the beach all the time. There is a special launch point for SCUBA divers. I myself use a hookah to dive. I plan on getting certified for SCUBA really soon.

An Air Compressor on the boat feeds air to me through a hose. It is an oiless compressor and produces clean air. The dangers of Air Embolism still exist as with SCUBA. So it is wise to have some training before using one. It is also similar to Brownies Third Lung.

Oh yes, I have seen these before. I have never used one though. I was out on Deerfield Beach this w/k end, First and second shelf are almost totally covered in sand. Sad. Gonna head down to dania Snorkeling this weekend.
