@ronstero There're not making animation too easy at all. As AM is on the internet it has become much more accessible for people all over the world. You'll be suprised at amount of people who would share the same passion for animation as you do.
With all due respect if you're concerned about making a living as an Animator, then I'm guessing its down to some kind of intimmidation factor. If you believe you're a really good Animator, there truly would be nothing to worry about.
@ronstero it's hard to explain but it takes a lot of your own skill and training of your eye. alot of students at AM took time to get this and so did I, your mentor is there to gulde you and other students are there to give you support and suggestions, when you join AM only then you'll start to see. if you want to become an animator study around 40hrs+ thats if you don't work or only work less then 20hrs a week. i wanted to point this out even if i'ts a 1 year old comment.
@ronstero just study and save for a year to join a school like AM, fellow blogs and work on basics, read up on workflok, start with animating a basic ball bouce, ball and chain, poseing a character (showing different emotions) a basic walk cycle and so on this is what i would of done before joining AM and is what i'll say to every student before joining a top end school like AM.
awesome reel man! Definitely one of the best AM reels I've seen!
