Ok,ok,..lets stop looking at every teeny little detail of this film and just enjoy the way it came out.There arent very many really well done movies about Genghis Khan,and this is without a doubt the best of the lot.Just because the fingers holding the bow mightnt be just perfect,or the buckles on a saddle arent where they should be,etc,doesnt make this any less a great film.Also Tadanobu Asano is so awesome as Genghis that the rest seems to fall in place.a 10 for me!

This movie is quite appreciated by the international audience because the action scenes are great, this is the only goodthing about the movie. However because all the main the characters are played and foreigners it loses the mongol atmosphere. And by my count there was only 2 real mongolians who played in the movie. Who can play Chinggis better than pure Mongol.

Most regretfully, the movies script is not in accurance with real history of Temujin(Chinggis),he was never in prison for 10 years.

What I didn't appreciate in this film is the archery way, as it is shown here. Mongolians shoot in a different way, not pulling the string with two fingrers, than pulling with thumb using a thumb-ring! The arrowhead was not to the left than to the right of the bow-body!

Great film, love it. Actors'play is fantastic, especially Sun Hon Lei's one( Jamukha's character). Great casting. Asano and Kulan Chuluun perfectly fit their roles. It's obvious, the team had to work hard to make the quality film and to a higher degree of professionalism. I think Bodrov managed to show hard nomadic life and the character Chingis Khan as a human being with all his personal qualities rather than a frosen historical figure.

As far as history, i remember when i went to mongolian culture festival, mongol deligation told that they can't answer hitorical questions because people of mongolia don't keep up with historical records and neighboring countries would know better.

I thought it was odd, but...

Anyway, russians are very familiar with mongol cultures, if not mongolia itself, then Tuva,Buryatia, etc...
