So saddening. I had considered Detroit as one of the cities I'd like to visit if I take a vacation to the US Midwest. I thought that Detroit was on a rebuilding program, has interest points of interest and a decent Amtrak, commuter rail and bus network. Would appreciate more info from those of you that live there.

As someone who grew up in southeastern Michigan but who has spent much of my life working outside of Michigan, I face a decision about where I will ultimately settle down.

Kilpatrick and Conyers have helped me to decide that I will not settle in Detroit. My issue is not just with them, but also with the voters who elected them. If the culture in Detroit is such that the majority approve of Conyers and Kilpatrick, there is no hope for the future of the city.

Not going to happen. She will keep getting re-elected. Detroit has an illiteracy rate of over 50%; illiterate as in over half the people can not read or write. Take uneducated people, get them behind you by using the race card, and you are guaranteed a political life.

By the way, you can essentially take uneducated people and replace the word race with words like religion, war, terrorism, etc.

Detroit has many wonderful aspects that, unless you live here, most don't see. People have a history with each other (including the suburbs) that makes it more like a small community inside a big city. Most larger cities are indifferent to each other. Not in Detroit though, we talk to each other (even if it's arguing).. I love Detroit and desperately want it to get the proper press and leadership it deserves. Sending Monica Conyers was a big mistake!

Monica Conyers has some nerve. She can attend the DNC but has been out of work for several weeks because of some mysterious surgery. She must have already disposed of all the documents from all of her alledged scandels. Her Judgement day is not far off. The Feds are coming for her. Mrs. Conyers quit embarassing Detroit and the entire State.
