  • Great bands! Have you ever heard about Finnish folk metal band called Frosttide?

  • Going back on topic, I like the video. Thanks for uploading! Good bands.

  • Steal your culture ?

Dude, there is some interesting genetic research about viking heritage that states you guys have 35% Viking haplogroup when we finnish have 40% ( western finland ).

That makes us be more vikings than you guys =D

I allso recommend you guys read about what is written in tales of Fornjótrin and Ynglinga,

Might give some ideas what was going on in that time.

  • Finnish people are not slavs or mongols. We are ugris.

We are not scandinavians but we are nordics.

So if we start stating facts here there you guys have them.

  • You guys suck....i mean being a genre nazi is one thing, but debating about vikings nowadays...:S

  • \m/

  • What is the name of the album that Tervaskanto - Tarina Routapeikosta is on?

  • Greetings from a Great Dane Viking

  • What the fuck is this fuss about vikings and whose ancestors they were?

Aint the whole genre called folk- or pagan metal anyway?

Cut the crap and enjoy good music.

  • why does every finnish think they had vikings? they had not

  • @96buick96 there were :)

  • @96buick96 there is a old king in finland who were viking! and so many of us got swedish roots or norway. thats why so many of us is like me. finnish guy with viking roots, nothing is more dangerous than viking with finnish spirit .sisu perkele

  • Sorry I am a Hungarian folk, but I also deny that Finnish are ever been vikings. Maybe there was some viking villages at the seaside but that wasn't common. As much as I know about the ancient finnish is they were good merchenaries and crafters. At the war they was fearsome and brutal, but not more than any rally at that ages. We do not have any shared thinks with the finnish (even if lot of stupid people think about that), but I really respect them and love them language

  • @MrTawarish well they definitely had a similar culture and religion

  • O.o You're right!!!!! It's Met!!!!!!!

  • YEAH!!!!!!!! What a ripoff!!!!

  • Again nice groups :)

  • For the 1000000th time. Vikings has nothing to do with Finland! Finland is a baltic country and has nothing to do with Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland! Stop pulling our ancestors in the dirt! And stop stealing other countries history.

  • Know your history, there where vikings in Finland.

Ok it's only marginally, but there where.

  • yeah, right.

  • There were Vikings from finland :) Very few tough. I know vikings aren't from finland, but we did have them

  • yha Finland is a Pagan majority however there are Viking and Sami cultures aswel

  • how bout you learn your history mate? there were vikings in finland...

  • @Fudo94

yup seppovesimies is right. there really was vikings not much but a little.

  • @Sareth987 Well, originally not. There were vikings in Russia, Great Britai and France too. But they orginally came from scandinavia.

  • @Fudo94

I didnt mean "originally" here in Finland was Russian Varjags (some kind of vikings).

  • @Fudo94 There were vikings from Japan also, just saying.

  • @Fudo94 There was a Finnish vikings too, becose Finland was under Swedish terroritory you fucking retard

  • @Fudo94 Vikings have were on Finland, cause thors hammers and other viking stuff has been found in Finland. Especially from Ahvenanmaa. But yeah, actually we finnish have nothing to do with vikings.

Only the genre is called Viking metal cause of it's original orgin from Sweden: Bathory.

  • @Fudo94 you stupid dick! almost half of finnish people have swedish roots just like me! 80% of my friends got swedish roots too! FINNISH PRIDE PERKELE!!!

  • @Fudo94 sir you fail, Finland was part of Sweden, there was vikings on Finland, but they were only stealing and robbing.Think again before you start to comment crap.

Btw, Sweden and Norway is Neighbour countries of Finland so they have alot to do with Finland & Denmark is on the same Continent as Finland.

Ps: Swedish is second native language of Finland.

  • @Tehpromo They stole and robbed. How the hell can there be "finnish viking metal"... Seriously, no finns were vikings! Dont take credit for our ancestors! Get your own.

  • @Fudo94 Hey! retard, every single country can make viking metal, if they want.

"Don't take credit for out ancestors" what that supposed to mean? i don't even know where do you live nor you don't know where i live, what if i live in the same country as you? think about that.

  • @Tehpromo If you lived where i live we woulnt have to speak english... And what the fuck is "viking metal". Its not like they had guitars during the raids! Seriously. "dont take credit for our ancestors" mean that you shouldnt take credit for others ancestors.

  • @Fudo94 vikings attacked finland, you stupid, probably russian arse. Viking metal is metal sub genre based on singing about vikings. Finns had even small forts to defend them from vikings, and retard russkies like you.

  • @darkville Dipshit, im swedish. What i mean by saying that finns have nothing to do with vikings is that they were not vikings living there. The vikings attacked pretty much everything close to scandinavia... Still think that this "finnish viking metal" is bullshit... And stop with these personal insults, they do not belong here.

  • @Fudo94 if there were vikings in a country with land line to finland the of course there were vikings in finland too - but they weren't finnish themselfs - use your brains

  • @Fudo94 and dude - viking metal is a metal genre, anyone can make viking metal if they want! and making viking metal is not taking credit from other peoples ancestors - it's about telling their story. vikings were 70% - 80% norwegians anyway.

  • @finmetalwarrior norwegians? Hope you are aware of that pretty much everybody who lived in swe, nor, den, ice at that time were "vikings". And the majority of them lived in sweden, and thus im pretty sure that the majority came from sweden too. And we are from the same "people" and at that time there was no "sweden" or "norway".

  • @Fudo94 what i meant, was that majority of them lived in the sise of norway - before they started to spread - and if you don't know, what a "viking" was, they were the elite warriors of the time. the only way to get to be a viking was by defeating a viking in battle - then, if you were victorious - you would become blood brother woth them all. so if you don't even know what a viking was - stay silent

  • @finmetalwarrior elite warriors? what the f are you talking about? Its not like they were heroic and nice. They were pirates... and killers. Where did you get the fact that they lived in norway? By that time it was the same people! jesus... I can almost bet money on that you believe that they wore helmets with horns attached too... Where do you get your information? I would like to take a look at that source.

  • @Fudo94 They WERE elite warriors, many of them, they specialised in warfare dumbass, they were good at sea too. Why must every non nordic person bitch about vikings being murderers? What about their faith and their exploring? You are just fed with propaganda that they were barbarians. As killing isn't common anywhere?

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside I have never claimed that they are barbarians and brutes. Im from sweden, so im not a "non-nordic person". They are pictures as mindless brutes and warriors, but they were not stupid as many seem to think nowadays, they were just as intelligent as people today are. Stop corrupting things that i have said by claiming false information, please.

  • @finmetalwarrior And anyways. Everybody immigrated to their current countries at some point. So its possible that most of the scandinavians at that time lived in norway. But there was no such thing as sweden or norway anyways. And i know that many settled in finland, GB, russia and many other countries. Conversation is over, i know what you mean! Have a great day :)

  • @Fudo94 There wera a thing called norway and danemark, however the name of sweden was SVITHJOD, look up the icelandic name for sweden, sweden is mentioned in the icelandic sagas. Vikings were sometimes named halfdan= half danish.

  • @Fudo94 They didn't call themselves viking, that is a later invention, they called themselves men from the north, NORMANdie.

  • @Imhornydadcomeinside I am very aware of that they didnt call themselves vikings... They were even from different "tribes" and not that alike each other, however they did the same thing. So they were called "vikings" which means people living close to bays or something likely

  • @Fudo94 Baltic countries are Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

And by the way Information from Wikipedia.

The Nordic countries make up a region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic which consists of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and their associated territories which include the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Svalbard and Åland. Scandinavia is sometimes used as a synonym for the Nordic countries in English

  • @Kurmelo They came from there, thats what i said. And what is "viking metal" overall? How can there possibly be viking metal if there are no vikings anymore? And even less so, finnish viking metal. Dont understand.

  • @Fudo94 the Norse spread into most of eastern and northern Europe

  • @kybris holy shit i get many replies. Sure they did, there were vikings that settled in GB too. The average brit is still not of norse ancestry.

  • @Fudo94 YOU DUMB DICK HEAD! MANY PEOPLE IN FINLAND HAVE SWEDISH OR NORWAY ROOTS! FROM MY FRIENDS 80% GOT SWEDISH ROOTS! OUR ANCESTORS WERE V I K I N G S ! SHUT UP IF YOU DONT KNOW SHIT! IM FINNISH GUY WITH VIKING ROOOOTS! PERKELE! I AM A !!!! V I K I N G!!!!

  • @TheBearviking There were FEW vikings in finland, they did not come from finland. Finns are therefore not vikings. Just because you put a pig in a stable doesnt make the pig a horse.

  • @TheBearviking Btw, let go of shift will you? YOU are no viking, as there are no vikings as of this date. Vikings were ONLY men of the real Scandinavia, Finland is no part of it.

  • @Fudo94 to be viking is what you got inside! these days its not the same thing like back int the days. but its just something what keeps me going. but more important is to be finnish. suomalainen. thats something what makes me strong. only people in world who got SISU is finnish people! no matter how fucked up thinks are, we dont collapse Perkele. we got iron heart and iron spine

  • @TheBearviking "These days"? There are no vikings these days. Just as with every word, it carries a definition. Vikings were not finns. At least not genically.

  • @Fudo94 listen man, lets not talk. no matter what we say this all will stay to same. see ya, it was nice talking to you.

  • @TheBearviking It wont get anywhere because you are not talking of facts, while i am. But i agree, lets leave it. Good evening.

  • @Fudo94 Finland is a baltic country? You seem to know only the half of the story. Yeah Finns have nothing to do with scandinavic vikings except there were finnish mercenaries who took part to the viking voyages. And only some finns were varangians. But judging Finland as a BALTIC country is dogshit. Finnish people has origins on both east and west. I'm really interested in family history and for example my family is known to have roots in Norway and in northern Russia

  • @Lessari Thats partly where finns origined from. Maybe not baltic, but its not scandinavian either. Only reason why finland is considered part of scandinavia is because it was part of sweden for a long time.

  • @Fudo94

Finns, are a mix of slavs, mongoloids and scandinavians, and when you think of it, maybe a bit sami too(?). And only northern(Lapland) Finland is consired as a part of Scandinavia becouse of it's - huge - religional similarities with the scandinavian beliefs. So only religiously, not geographically. Get yer facts right.

  • @Vormal en()wikipedia()org/wiki/Scandinavia Read it. Finland is NOT a real part of scandinavia. Scandinavia is sometimes used as a synonym for "the nordic countries" which includes finland. But scandinavia is Sweden, Norway, Denmark ONLY, not Finland. "Get yet facts right." Only ignorant fools mistake Scandinavia with the nordic countries, aka "norden" in swedish.

  • @Fudo94

Read my post again, fool. You failed big time.

  • @Vormal Oh but i didnt. "Finland is considered a part of scandinavia because of..." It isnt a part of scandinavia at all. Only ignorant people with little knowledge of the subject say that its part of Scandinavia and uses scandinavia as a synonym for the nordic countries.

  • @Fudo94

Heh, seems like I was logged onto my other account. I'm actually this "Vormal".

  • it sucks in ireland cause we dont have that many metal bands as they do in places like finland and so on we have shit rap and gay pop! to many scumbags for my liking

  • @davidcoady87 then try to form your own metal band and make the difference my friend.. even if you dont get that far you may influence someone else :)

  • I've heard Ragnarok by Brymir before, and that song is legendary. The others sound really good too

  • Haha, in Finland there seems to be a new folk/viking metal band ripening in every second carage. :) Brymir sounds really cool.

  • i tot is fintroll

    haha..

  • RathW, sanana "tervaskanto" on kyllä aika helvetin vanha.

  • Hopefully the first song is a kind of cover of Met, otherwise its just plain stealing

  • 1:02 - 1:24 same exact thing as Met by Equilibrium

  • No the same

  • Only the tune

  • @Kale1800 Yeah I noticed that too :P

  • @Kale1800 hey, right, now I know, why I liked this band alright xD

  • Its the same like equilibrium or korpiklaani

  • the first 1 rem, inds me of MET from the Equilibrium^^

  • Wow! Holy crap, thanks for this video! I put it in my favorites so my friends can see it. I already knew about Wolfhorde and they are awesome, but the other three were freaking good too!

  • great!!!

  • Trollfolk is a fun song....

  • great music , thank you for uploading this !

  • Tervaskanto? Köyhän miehen Korpiklaani... Nimikin niiltä källitty

  • Good bands I like their songs (because I like folk and viking metal and the finnish rock/metal)

  • Tervaskanto - Tarina Routapeikosta is like Met from Equilibrium

  • it is... but probably Tervaskanto makde a cover of it or... created it at first.. not that sure...

  • made* (my bad :P)

  • @Pagan0Metal A bit too much, yeah! lol
