How fortunate was I to be 23 and in Rome in 1993? Extremely. What a concert that was. This version of Riverman is superior to the one in Gone To Earth.
I saw RF with King Crimson incl. Belew, Gunn, Levin and Brufford in Moscow 2003, and David Sylvian with his band in Moscow 2005. Both were fantastisch!!!
Saw them in Rome, November 7th 1993. This line-up functioned as kind of a warm-up for the subsequent 'Double Trio' King Crimson. Michael Brook opened playing solo, then he would join them for the rest of the concert. «Exposure» was also part of their set.
This wonderful piece is from The Road to Graceland recording at the Nakano Sun Plaza on November 26, 1993 for a The First Day Album tour only avaliable on a japanesse laserdisc and a Virgin cd audio edition named Damage.... the begining of the Crimson double-trio...
@jjiimmyytthheejjiimm Fripp said that being next to David onstage is incredible because his voice reverberates like the other instruments - very different from other singers. Thought that was interesting...
Michael Brook. He's the guy behind the Infinite Guitar, and a respected world music producer. He also did an opening set at these gigs, including material from the stunning "Cobalt Blue".
I still have the T-shirt!!!

So let me see if I've got this right... David Sylvian, Robert Fripp, Michael Brook, Pat Mastelotto, and is that Trey Gunn? All on one stage? Amazing.

Yes, this must have been way before your time! Those in the know have seen it coming for ages, and it finally happened in 1993...
